November 10, 2011 3:19 am I was nervous about Johns continuing his GL run but I'm glad he did because this is probably my favorite normal superhero book out of the new 52(except for Batman). Each issue has gotten better and better, and Johns is no longer focused on making big moments but rather just telling interesting/fun stories. I'm almost afraid to say that GL is back because I don't want to jinx it, still POTW.
September 1, 2011 2:14 am Thank You, that's encouraging. Sorry, if I was a bit too specific.
September 1, 2011 2:11 am Sorry, just want to tell you that that was a brilliant article. You hardly talked about the book yet you captured exactly how I felt about this book. It's a fresh start and by god it's exciting.
September 1, 2011 1:56 am Glad to see this as pick of the week. I stopped reading comics about a half a year back due to loss of interest and lack of funds (college is freaking expensive) but when I saw this as pick of the week, I had to give into my impulses and I'm glad that I did! This is seriously the best Johns' comic I've read in a LONG time. I'm normally a bigger fan of the his stories than characters but here I loved everyone; Green Lantern was the best he's been since Rebirth, Batman was handled really well and had great chemistry with GL, and the character that showed up at the end(don't want to spoil it) had a spark in him that hasn't been shown in a long time. Overall, great first issue, if some of the other books keep up this momentum DC might get a customer back.
September 1, 2011 12:55 am The book I'm interested in the most is Green Lantern and would like to know a couple things. First, is Sinestro still Sinestro? By which I mean; do you get a sense that the ring made him more heroic/humble or is he generally still the same arrogant fascist that we know and love. Secondly, did this issue give you the feeling that Johns is back. I know that a lot of people(myself included) felt that he lost something post Blackest Night, and would like to know if you thought this was a return to form. Thank You
April 20, 2011 7:19 pm @JimBilly4 100% agree, great post.

As for this issue(and the corps. issue) I agree with Wheelhands uneventful but still overall enjoyable. I hope the next 4 issues really condense the plot so we can get something worthwhile(like the end of the New Guardians arc).
April 20, 2011 7:14 pm I found Winnick's Batman Reborn arc to be down right painful to read. Daniel was by no means perfect but his stories are tons of fun and very well drawn. Besides if you don't like it you have two other Grayson Bat-books to choose from(which are great).
April 14, 2011 9:47 pm I agree that Lemire writes great side characters and stories (much like the man that gave him the book) but Gallo really needs to go.
April 14, 2011 1:01 am I've never read the Flash before this series and I downright love it. Barry's an awesome character, he's a little quirky, socially awkward(something I can relate to), and just a sweet heart. He's probably the most 'average joe' superhero I've seen and I love it.

Great article, and very true on the tie-in part. I don't get why people feel that they will miss key parts of Flashpoint if they skip the tie-ins. In Blackest Night I'm pretty sure that none of the tie-ins were really necessary to the story, sure they may have given a tidbit here or there(Donna Troy getting infected, Bart Allen being resurected, how Hal gathered the colored corps) but to say that you HAD to read them to understand the story is ridiculous.
