April 8, 2010 11:21 am Thanks for the review Josh. Had the chance to play with one yesterday and it definitely felt nice. The weight of it definitely was noticeable. During long periods of use, does the back tend to get hot?
April 5, 2010 4:32 pm Such an interesting premise for a comic. I'm really enjoying his Secret Warriors work and have been eyeing SHIELD ever since the promo art was released. I plan on reading in trades, but can't wait to hear what people have to say about the first few issues

Always love the occasional rotation of podcast teams. Paul cracking the whip at Jimski gave me some good chuckles. I was definitely surprised (in a good way) to hear the love for the Second Coming one-shot. It was a like a great action flick and the scene mentioned (I think by Mike) of the Alpha team crashing into the vans was well-done by Fitch. Hope we get to hear from this podcast team more frequently!

It's a nice start. I think of the major comic readers we've seen, the Comixology viewer is my personal favorite. But the pricing on older material is still a barrier for me, especially when I look at it from a trade/arc perspective. Use the first arc of Wolverine: Enemy of the State as an example. For the first 6 issue arc, I would not be willing to pay $12 (6 issues at $1.99), when I can get the paper format for less than $10 currently online. The space-saving option of digital format has been mentioned as a reason to pay the premium, but I think there are some cons (tied to iPhone/iPad) that negate it for me. If people are ok with $1.99 across the board, more power to them, but for me this pricing model doesn't quite work.

April 1, 2010 11:46 am I kind of hope it isn't pre-loaded from a personal preference standpoint. I kind of hate how I can't get rid of some of those pre-loaded apps on my iPhone (ex: Youtube, compass)
April 1, 2010 10:45 am My first reaction is that this is pretty awesome. But then, the more I think about it, the more skeptical I get about how great it really is until we get more details. Right now on the Comixology app on the iPhone, you can get tons of Marvel comics. The big shortcoming is that it is all older stuff that is still priced at $1.99. If that's the same offering on the iPad, I don't plan on buying anything.

The Hal/Sinestro Blammoids are my favorites of the bunch. I had been wondering when we would start seeing them in the stores.

March 25, 2010 5:11 pm Awesome awesome news! I've worried that going to an ongoing might lead the an eventual dip in quality, but so far after all I've read I plan on reading the series until it proves otherwise.
March 11, 2010 3:44 pm That's intriguing. But still it will depend on the pricing and content to determine whether go for an iPad.
