Name: Jim Armpriester

Bio: I'm a pastor by day comic collector by night. Captain America brought me into the world of comics with great stories from Ed Brubaker. I'll read anything Grant Morrison writes or Alex Maleev draws. Picking up back issues is my thing, especially in the Marvel U. Image is growing on me. December 17, 2013 9:43 pm I check the website occasionally to see if they're canceling the podcast because I'm a month behind on my books/podcasts. Glad to see its still going. This podcast is the best comic content on the web. Thanks for doing such a great job.
August 19, 2013 11:57 pm The first two issues were letdowns, I hope issue three picks it up. It has been very wordy yet at the same time unclear. I'm not sure what Scott's mission statement is for this title and am losing faith that the story is going to places I want to see. It doesn't leave a lasting impression and I'm not overly excited about it. With that said I do like Synder's Lex and he's done such solid work in the past I'll stick it out for 5 issues before I decided if I'll stay or go. I want a good Superman book but if Synder and Morrison can't do it, then maybe no one can.
August 14, 2013 11:41 pm I had ACL surgery last August and was out of commission for two weeks. Looking for a comic fix to pass the time I bought the first compendium. It had an amazing whimsical feel despite the world ending consequences of each issue. The father son love/hate relationship is compelling and I can't wait to see what's in-store for his half brother. I'm so ready to read through all the missing pieces between the first compendium and last years issues. Through DCBS I'm only paying 38 dollars for this compendium which holds around 40 issues. What a steal!
August 6, 2013 3:31 pm In "ilovecomics" defense, the only place I've seen shelf porn is on CBR. I also have never heard the words, I've only seem them on the world wide web. A group of my college buddies and I have a fb group where we talk comics and post pictures of our collections, but we never use the term. I'm sure it is used elsewhere, but it is a regular feature on CBR. I had assumed they coined the term but that may not be true. Regardless its an interesting article. I too am a fan of removing "shelf porn" from the comic vocabulary.
July 20, 2013 1:15 am Is Ultimate Spiderman not selling well? I hope Miles and company don't go down with the Ultimate U. Its a great story and more importantly I don't like the Slott story in the 616. If this gets canceled there's no Spiderman for me.
June 20, 2013 9:32 pm Why would it lead to chaos? Facebook has an edit button and I've yet to see the chaos, though I have been able to correct my typos
June 7, 2013 9:07 pm They could at least put him on a team book. Moon Knight and Bucky are great characters without a home.
June 3, 2013 8:23 pm Thanks for the reply guys. I was more worried about the effect on Waid's stories than on Marvel continuity.
June 3, 2013 8:14 pm @Master Destructo, that's exactly what I was trying to articulate. Also it goes without saying this bullying is unfair and unacceptable. I hope I didn't communicate that I was in support of picking on those that fit any of the things I described.
