August 10, 2012 2:10 pm Agree 100%, Conor. When they initially announced the series, I was too worried the series wouldn't have these specific moments, and could not be happier that Bendis provided all of them. I still think there has to be one remaining with MJ after this battle but before Pete goes back, but even if there isn't, this was an issue I as a reader of U S-M (from the beginning) wanted, needed, and could not be more pleased with.
August 10, 2012 1:58 pm Not ashamed to admit that the Spider-Men panel pushed me well beyond choking up.
July 18, 2011 1:27 pm I also think it may borrow from Knightfall and The Killing Joke thematically. if the Batman and his back aren't around to be broken, then Bane might go after Gordon instead to draw him out. I'm trying to avoid plot spoilers, so IDK if it's been confirmed or not, but I suspect that Bruce will travel the world again to retrain. The initial trailer reports suggested that there was a shot of him training from Begins, but while I do recall him doing pushups, I don't recall him doing them with bars behind him.
July 11, 2011 2:45 pm Sorry everyone, I edited that down to half the size but it still came out longer than I thought.

Way to go Jim. I just spoke with Joe and Tom and they wanted me to tell you that your check is in the mail.

Fear Itself? Meh. I'm reading it. I dont think It's fucking garbage, but it still hasn't hooked me yet. I think there have been and are going to be lazy choices made within the direction of the plot. Thor gets taken away, just to be thrown back 2 issues later? Bru brings Bucky back just to give him a throw away death. Stark honey doesn't work for Odin, so maybe he'll help for Stark vinegar. Villains get Asgardian buffs? Ok, give the heroes Asgardians buffs.

The majority of the most creative things are happening outside of the main book, and thats a problem for me. Making it come down to who has the better toysis a cop out. Unless "The Mighty" are going to be walking around with their weapons after the fact, then what is the point? I can promise that Quesada has said that the tie-ins aren't essential to understanding the main story, and that is a crock of shit.

Alternatively, I am loving Flashpoint. To be completely honest, the first issue didn't hook me. The news of the reboot did. Wait, wha-?

If I may take umbridge with the least relevant point within your arguement, the "Reboot = DC is irrelevant until August" arguement is a weak bit, especially when applied to Flashpoint. For someone so against the use of "the laziest snark of the month," you're guilty of your use of the laziest snark of the summer. Comic book common senses dictates that an event started by the recreation of reality, will probably end in similar fashion. I don't know if it has been confirmed yet, but I'd lay cash down that Flashpoint will be the story responsible for the restructuring of the DC reality. That immediately makes it relevant to the reboot, which means that saying it won't matter is probably the furthest thing from the truth.

At the end of the day, I like reading comics because I have fun reading comics. Considering that as the deciding factor, Flashpoint has my vote.
June 2, 2011 1:03 pm I think the Hawkman creative team just made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
June 1, 2011 12:57 pm @MajorLaser  Right there with you man. I actually just rewatched The Incredible Hulk a couple of nights ago, and still love everything about it. As frustrating as it is that Norton is gone, he wasn't the only thing that was good about the movie. If they can, I say Marvel Studios brings back as much of the cast and crew as they can, and drop Mark Ruffalo in as Banner, and move forward with Leader arc they introduced in The Incredible Hulk. The last thing I think the Hulk property needs or the American public has patience for is Hulk: The Reboot: Part Trois.
May 19, 2011 7:02 pm I know it wasn't included, but the last panel of Ultimate Spider-Man gave me chills, made me feel worried and proud, and left me remembering what makes USM one of the best heroes around.
May 13, 2011 11:30 am @JesTr I think everyone wished they brought Bruce into Smallville. I don't know if you have heard or not, but it's been all but officially confirmed that Warner Bros. put a blockade around Bruce Wayne/Batman with regard to Smallville. At the time the show started, The studio was trying to get a new Batman movie (which would eventually become Batman Begins) off of the ground, and didn't want viewers to get confused. Nevertheless, that is also a big reason why Green Arrow originally felt a bit more like Batman than himself. I hope this is informative for you, otherwise I just wrote this for nothing. Anyway, the more you know...
