July 15, 2013 11:51 am These types of things are always hard to compile. Is there an application process that needs to happen for people to get considered? People I would've liked to have seen on this list is Dean White and Jordie Bellaire for sure on colors. For covers I've really enjoyed the unique works that Mark Brooks has been doing on Defenders and Mike Del Mundo on X-Men Legacy. I know we can't get everyone in there but those are a few people that I would have liked to see recognized. Also, for online work http://jl8comic.tumblr.com/ is adorable and demands attention, I just wonder about the grey area of using a DC property and all of that.
May 9, 2013 1:39 pm Technically Big Hero 6 has been popping up here and there in the past few years. A few weeks a one-shot came out and they were in the End of the Earth side issue from Spiderman. I don't know much about the team, but this does have me interested what other kinds of properties they could animate if this one does alright. Power Pack!? PET AVENGERS!?
March 13, 2013 7:49 pm There's something to be said about a book that makes you chomp at the bit for the next issue. Going into the Marvel NOW stuff I never once thought this would be one of my favorites but it's insanely good.
February 8, 2013 10:14 am I wish that Opena art was a poster. I like the addition of strange girl in there too, still can't figure out who's on the fish thing in the background through. Also, I'm not a fan of Red Sonja but I like Kevin Mellon's style, I don't think I've ever seen anything from him before.
January 18, 2013 4:11 pm I first found out about this site from Ron's work on App Judgement(by exploring other shows that he was in), so without Ron I wouldn't have this website that I visit multiple times a day! But a huge congrats on the job at Image. I hope your dream job amounts up to everything you've imagined(pun?) it to be. Glad to know that Paul's sultry internet voice will be seducing my earholes more often now. And finally, I never once sensed that Graphicly interrupted or interfered with any of the content that iFanboy produced, and that fact that the site can support itself now is insanely great news. I look forward to the future. It's going to be rad.
January 11, 2013 4:31 pm I've been doing the order by mail comics for almost 3 years now and I while I hated being behind it was great for me because my closest LCS was hours of away. Only just recently have I decided to switch to trade because of budget concerns and let my Marvel subs run out(as well as canceled my TFAW subs).
November 19, 2012 12:43 pm It's a really tough obsession to curb. At this point I've cut out all 3.99 books except Batman, Secret Avengers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Secret is ending Remender's run soon and then after that the book will be gone from my list opening up a slot for 3 monthly 2.99 comics. (with an extra buck added sure). It just doesn't make sense why I would want to spend 8 bucks on one story when I could get 3 stories for 1 buck extra.
November 19, 2012 12:28 pm I have an obsession problem, I have 2 hobbies(video games and comics) that I pour most of my free dollars into. I'm pretty much the perfect consumer for companies because I want 'everything'. I play every major video game release and I read the majority of books on the stands. Or at least I did. I make a decent salary, I'm not married and I don't have any children, so I thought the expenses for my hobbies were justified because it was something that made me life happier. But because I decided to try saving money for more important things(real big boy things) I finally took a look at how much was I was spending. I was pretty shocked by the amount and that's when I realized that maybe my obsession was indeed a problem and not just some quirky thing. Because of that I've put some rules on my monthly spending, $40 for single issue, $20 for trades(1 trade or 2 on sale mostly). Since I'm not buying as much I've had to force myself to stop caring what goes on in other books, but still the desire to know everything that is going on everywhere in every issues is still there. So the only thing I can possibly do is try to manage my pull list to get as many books as possible. 3.99 is fine when it's a quality title that comes out monthly, Batman for example. But with this Marvel NOW! stuff I realized that most of the books I wanted were going to be double shipped at 3.99. For each book I sub to that's a dual shipper that removes another from my pull list. So I decided to hell with all of that, the books that I still want to read will be reserved for that trade purchase sometime down the road and from now on I'll read single shipping books(preferrably at 2.99). So uh...don't double ship DC or I'll be down to a handful of books.
October 30, 2012 2:37 pm While there is a lot of potential for a large number of these books I've decided that any title that is $4 an issue and double ships will not be added to my pull list. Which is, sadly, most of the titles above. If the books are as popular as I expect I'll probably pick them up in trade buy my monthly comic budget can't handle $16 bucks a month for just two titles.
