March 27, 2016 7:10 am I must be a mutant, because I really enjoyed this film, and while I see the imperfections, I think it captured that Frank Miller kinda feel. It could have used more Joy, more interactions between the supers and the normals, and I fail to see why DC and WB keep trying to make Doomsday a thing. He should have been a one and done character, but the rest of the film, including the weird Lex Luthor, were all great to me. I do hope Snyder listens about the joy, though, because too dark and too gritty if continued into JL can be a problem. We need to see what these heroes are fighting for, and part of that is the lighter side of life.
August 19, 2011 9:56 am I am stoked for this title, and I like the art I am seeing so far, but, really, i detest the Zatanna redesign. Does DC, or rather it's editorial staff, really think that making Zatanna relevant involves making her into a goth chick? I mean, that hasn't been cool in several years. Typical straight- man-thinking too that every female character seems to want to go with a boostier or tight slutty dress while the male characters somehow all want to cover up like monks. Zatanna, even in the ridiculous magician's costume, has always, at least in the last couple of decades, had a certain dignity to her. The recent Zatanna series exemplified this by giving us a character who understood the silliness of her outfit as a show business thing while when she was out of it she wore some rather mundane stuff. I can't imagine how the character of Zatanna went from that to a tattooed goth-like rock chick. Where does that leap come in? I suppose it is possible that the tattoos are some kind of spell work, but i'll wait and see if this is the case. Still, the artist does a good job here, and I have to at least say that i am looking forward to the story potential in this book.

I think Josh allows his expectations of what an animated film is supposed to be from a stereotypical stand point, that they are supposed to be for children, color his opinions of these films. The DCAU films are PG-13, and as such are not meant for younger audiences, and allowing your expectations of such to color your opinion seems odd to me.

So far these have been great, in my opinion, but then, I don't tie the animated shows to the comics and expect them to be exactly like the comics, that is just stupid.

So, here's a question. In Green Lantern we saw an entire world being brought back to life. Might we not see all of Krypton brought back as well? Or might they be at peace. What about entire universes? Could the black lanterns bring back entire pre-Crisis universes? Could the entire infinite multiverse be up for grabs?

I hope we see some touching moments of grief when Power Girl gets a load of her cousin as a Zombie.
