On Mar 15, 2010 2:53 PMGood-sized list for me this week. Batman (my last issue; just getting it to fill out Daniel's story--which was "okay" by me--then dropping the title till at least #700). Joe the Barbarian (last issue of this for me too, unless the story impresses me a lot more--otherwise, will wait for trade, maybe). X-Men: Legacy (coming back to this title, giving it another shot, because I like...

On Mar 15, 2010 12:05 PMWell-deserved win. The "GO" arc in particular seemed like a historical breakthrough of sorts. Though I agree with Rucka politically almost to a T (I think), I also appreciated how his work with Kate hasn't felt heavy-handed or preachy (not that being preachy on these issues would necessarily be an inherently bad thing). The positive LBGT vibe has seemed perfectly natural, skirting al...

On Mar 15, 2010 12:00 PMThis is a good article and I agree with most of it, but I have to say that it's kind of dismaying to see how most people are still bumping their heads against the glass ceiling of "Art is subjective", which often becomes a cure-all discussion-ender forbidding any deeper analysis--since that further analysis might reveal insight that is not totally happy or enjoyable. If you don't lik...

On Mar 12, 2010 5:10 PMThat sucks. I never read this book, but have always been somewhat intrigued by it. The ways its supporters talked it up seemed interesting. This really seemed to be a high-quality run that was bringing something a little different to the superhero genre. That said, yeah, I think it should be emphasized that getting a 12-issue run of Power Girl, with the same creators on every issue, in 2009-2...

On Mar 12, 2010 1:04 PMWOW--Good thing Marvel chose to release the names of each of these characters in a separate advertisement and press release! Dear GOD, comicdom NEEDED to receive this information slowly otherwise the SHOCK of it all would have killed us due to over-excitation! No, seriously, if you care about this stuff--whatever. If it somehow miraculously turns out to be a good book--great. And in a way I'...

On Mar 10, 2010 10:58 PMYeah, this was an INCREDIBLE issue. As a fan of the Morrison Batman run almost to an obsessive extent, this was one of the very best issues. The clues I've been following just explode in so many exciting ways with this issue. The art was some of the best I've seen in a long while. It fits the detective atmosphere perfectly.

On Mar 10, 2010 12:19 PMThis is why I've drifted away from Marvel Comics and why I'm probably going to stop caring about comics on a weekly basis in the near future. I mean, does this really need to be its own press release? Forget "event fatigue", I have "hype fatigue" from every little announcement being made into its own press release that I'm supposed to care about. I can't just avoid these t...

On Mar 8, 2010 10:20 AMGood news. Isn't JMS already doing the Earth 1 Superman OGN(s), tho? Eh, whatever, that doesn't mean he can't do the main monthly stuff too. I know the iFanboys seem to have liked the Robinson and Rucka regime, but most other readers (included myself) dropped off soon after Johns stopped being the guiding force. Hopefully JMS can get the Superman line back on track.
