May 16, 2016 12:30 pm @TheLastBaron Thanks for sharing. That is a great a quote! I'll have to pass it on. Darwyn's passing is a loss to the art form. Thanks to Connor, Ron, and Josh for turning me on to his work oh so long ago.
April 12, 2016 5:32 pm Great show as always. Random question: Any chance we'll see a booksplode interview with Glen Weldon about The Caped Crusade. I really enjoyed the interview Paul did with him about the Superman: The Unauthorized Biography.
March 20, 2016 9:05 pm Still no luck. I've tried refreshing, closing, clearing the cache, et cetera. I'll just stream from the website.
March 20, 2016 5:45 pm Hi Guys, I'm unable to stream or download from via Podcruncher on iOS. Other episodes download just fine. Thanks.
February 21, 2016 5:11 pm Hi Guys, Frankie Eggrolls here. Still not seeing the episode in my podcast feed (podcruncher). I'll go take care of that thing and check back in a bit.
September 14, 2015 12:48 pm Also, agree, great to have these back. I love the long form convernsational interview and Josh is one of the best at it. Cool accents and great stories help also.
May 18, 2015 1:06 pm @Denver Dave: I also miss the old indie 'Comix' tone. I think Julia Wertz captures that style well: semi to full on autobiographical, funny, sad, tragic, slice a life, et cetera. Check out 'Drinking at the Movies' and the 'Infinite Wait'. Great samples on her website: http://www.juliawertz.com/category/comics/ Anyone know of a website or podcast that reviews these types of 'comix' ?
January 12, 2015 1:05 pm Another recommendation for Aaron: Seconds by Bryan Lee O'Malley. A recent, self-contained, 'slice-of-life' story with a strong supernatural (surreal) element that might fill in for the superhero fix. And it's just really good. It was book of the month of a few months ago,
October 6, 2014 5:09 pm I enjoyed your responses to the pros/cons of the comics community (though I think those might extend to most 'pop-culture niche' communities). I think Josh's point about over appreciation of characters and under appreciation of craft (at least among some) was right on. The depth and breadth that you guys cover w/r/t to craft is one of the best parts of the podcast and has certainly made me a more appreciative consumer. Thanks again. Also, Paul, congrats on the Panels launch! I'm very excited to see where it goes!
September 4, 2014 12:44 pm TMNT. I don't know the exact lineage since it's creator owned but I really enjoyed the Mirage and Dark Horse days. Was it also at Fantagraphics, or did they just put out the trades? I appreciate that IDW is trying to do something new (origin wise) but I have not been able to get into it. That said I've only read the first issue but it really did not do it for me.
