03.06.2009 - 'Watchmen'
On Mar 5, 2009 4:16 AMJust listening now. Josh, I don't know if it has been pointed out yet but I read an interview that explained why Nite Owl wasn't fat. In the book Dryberg isn't fat in the flashbacks to the group post-break up. Those scenes were all filmed first. Right after those were filmed Patrick Wilson started piling on weight as much as he could. He managed to gain 25 pounds by the time they were shootin...
Go to Comment"Hulk Vs." Animated Movie Review
On Jan 30, 2009 11:21 AMI saw Hulk vs. Wolverine when they screened it in San Diego. I wasn't all that impressed. It looked really nice and I had no real character complaints but there's just nothing in 40 minutes of the two tough guys fighting for me. Thoroughly bored. Almost walked out a couple of times.
Go to CommentThe Dark Knight vs. The Academy
On Jan 23, 2009 1:06 PMChristopher Nolan deserves a directorial nomination. The script POSSIBLY deserves a nomination. Still, as much as I don't think the 5 nominated Best Picture films all deserve to be on the ballot, I don't think The Dark Knight should be the one to replace any of them. It did a great thing in making comic movies more accessible and awesome, but I don't think it was one of the 5 best movies this y...

On Dec 16, 2008 9:00 AMThe Christmas season has a higher suicide rate than any other time of the year. Sad times, indeed.

Go to CommentSanta = BEST. SUPERHERO. EVER!
On Dec 12, 2008 1:26 AMBecause I was a strange child, the thing that always struck me as odd about Santa was that he was never sued. He can mass produce etch-a-sketches with elves and the people who sell them don't get upset? That's talent. I once asked if he lived at the North Pole because he was "on the lam."
Go to CommentWeb comics - so sticky!
On Dec 10, 2008 12:00 PMNothing Better ( http://www.webcomicsnation.com/tylerpage/nb/series.php ) is easily my favorite webcomic, and runs a lot closer to a real comic rather than a serialized newspaper strip. A few pages released at a time which eventually build into issues, which eventually build into trades you can buy in print. This is the kind of thing webcomics should be becoming.

On Dec 7, 2008 2:44 PMI'm definitely in. You guys have been an integral part of my life for years. Some of my best friends are people I talk to online, and most of them I met here. You brought my love of comics to a new height, and last but far from least, you introduced me (literally) to Stan Lee. I am more than willing to pay for that. And did I read something about members-only jackets? They're a little o...

On Dec 5, 2008 9:00 AMI keep hearing "pure Punisher" and it just doesn't sit well with me. Yes, they got that Castle's whole deal is that he kills bad people. Congratulations to all involved. That doesn't mean they couldn't have moved passed that and wrote a good script for it. Even most of the people enjoying it seem to be pointing out gaping flaws. A movie about killing people is useless unless it's a ...
