August 1, 2011 10:01 am Somebody is going to take the time to create the "super cut" off all the films in one really long ass movie. (For a film student it might be an interesting experiment.)
June 30, 2011 10:14 am If anybody has to defend a movie with and the words "yeah, but..." come into play, their arguement becomes invalid.  There is no reason anybody should have to "turn off their brain."  Suspend disbelief yes, but not turn off your brain.
June 29, 2011 11:15 pm I just got back from seeing it.  First off the good.

3D.  This is probably the best use of 3D since Avatar.  Lots of really good use of depth and not a lot of things popping out at you.  Some the aerial shots of Chicago were great. To be honest I saw it because it was in 3D, I work in the CE industry and the industry has a lot riding on 3D.

The CGI, honestly the CGI was many some of the best I've seen.  Sans a few shot, I didn't know what was real and what was made by a computer.  The effects not only of the Transformers but the buildings in Chicago, a city I know well, were as good as you could get.

That being said, the movie itself was terrible.  I almost walked out.  The plot of a transformer that crashed on the moon and that was the reason for the space race actually could have been cool, but it just fell flat.  This movie, for lack of a better term, is bored as hell.

I can buy alien robots in disguse. I cant buy them blowing the ever living shit out of everything, unless there is a main character near by.

Malkivoch is wasted in this.

What really makes me mad, all the dumb shit from TF2 is toned way down, which is going to make people happy.  When compared to TF2, this is a vastly superior movie.  However it is still terrible.

Green Lantern was not a masterpiece but it is much better then this garbage.  My list so far for best summer movies I've seen:

X-men
Thor
Super 8
Green Lantern
The pile of dog shit on the curb next to theatre
Transformers 3.
June 1, 2011 6:05 pm X-Men Continuity Overly Obsessed Ron > Arthur from Maine.  However one is a character, the other is not.  I will let you decide which is which. Some where in an early video show Ron is explaining X-men to Gordon.  Priceless.
March 28, 2011 5:01 pm The Rock as Captain Marvel would be perfect. I am surprised that there isn't more talk of a Captain Marvel movie. With Harry Potter wrapping up this year, an all ages superhero movie is in order and Captain Marvel is what every little kid dreams of. If done right it could be fantastic. We don't need every comic book movie "grim and gritty." Cooper has to be a front runner for Flash. (No pun intended) Geeks are all pulling for NPH but I don't see it happening. @superryan Amy Adams is a great choice for Lois Lane in my opinion and is the best news I've heard about Superman yet.
February 5, 2010 8:19 pm Jay and Alan would give me a nerdgasm if the show up.

@gobo not saying he's my first, second or third choice, but you no some where in the halls of Sony some on is lobbying for him as Parker.  It's Hollywood.

@cgpo Efron is probably getting tossed around too, and whoever the hell the oldest Jonas brother is.

The more I think about the more I get pissed about it.  Raimi is the reason Spider-man 1 and 2 are awesome.  Hollywood dipshits are the reason that 3 sucked so bad. (Raimi had Vemon forced on him) Could it be great, yes but somehow I doubt it.

@PaulMontgomery good call on Fugit, but you know that they want either some Twilight type hunk, or Michael Cera(which could work)  Hopefully we get a high school Spidey, no origin story.

Is anyone getting burned out on comic book movies?  I think I may be at my limit here quick.  2010, 2011 and 2012 is going to be crazy, Iron Man 2, The Avenagers, Spider-man 4, Green Lantern, Thor, Captain America, X-Men First Class, Wolverine 2, possible Ghost Rider and FF reboot and probably another Batman movie.

@flakbait, they have to keep making them or sooner or later the rights revert to Marvel, happened to Hulk

Not so much a video more a performance, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison's kid playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" About half way through Prince magically appears(that's what Prince does, because, wel he's Prince) and gives a face melting solo.  The look on Harrison's face is priceless.

Bummer, but an understandable bummer.  I hope when the show comes back we finally get the "Statue Episode"

As long as we get a few more Talk and Booksplodes, and the show does come back (Not like Ultimate Hulk Vs. Wolverine way, but a couple of months like a TV show way) I will continue to keep my membership dues curent.
