October 12, 2012 9:41 am Carla, if I remember correctly, is Jim Lee's daughter. She was born during the time he was drawing Justice League #1 and he incorporated her name in one of the panels using broken glass on a car windshield to spell her name. Looks like Jim is including her name as an "Easter egg" in every #1 issue he draws.

July 25, 2012 2:33 pm Because I've enjoyed "Bakuman" (an extreme meta manga on two guys making manga!) I picked up the first volume of "Death Note", done by the same writer/artist team. I read it in one sitting. Gorgeous, realistic art, and a well-constructed storyline. I cannot get my hands on the remaining 11 volumes quick enough. Highly recommended. I'm also reading "High School of the Dead" for zany zombie apocalypse action.

May 14, 2012 9:15 pm This was my first-ever HC collection! And it...looks...great! Oh, and regardless of what the solicitations say (the DC Comics website got it wrong too!), this includes issues the first SEVEN issues, not just the first six.

May 14, 2012 12:30 pm Apparently August is going to be quite the month. And you can partially blame me. Last week I finally decided to try out getting trades. My first two purchases? The hardcover Batman New 52 and the TP Justice League International New 52. This morning, DC has been releasing info about their August books. And guess what? Issue 12 of JLI is..."the LAST issue." Then the JLI annual comes out a few weeks later. So at least I know what the contents are of JLI TP Volume 2. Pardon me if I performed some sort of jinx by getting the TP. Batman's safe at least. I hope.

April 11, 2012 12:25 pm Picked up issues #1 and #2 today, just from all the positive buzz on this site! Along with "Thief of Thieves" #3 and the first issue of "America's Got Powers", it's Image Week for me! Looking forward to the reads when I get home!
