August 5, 2014 9:30 am I really enjoyed this movie, just a ton of fun and I had a grin on my face nearly the entire movie. Personally I loved the music, the wife and I have been listening to the soundtrack quite a bit since we saw the movie.

June 4, 2014 9:46 am In similar time travel stories like this the person eventually remembers all of the things that happened in the "new" timeline, so it is like they lived two separate lives. I'm going to assume that is what happens here.
May 27, 2014 3:46 pm First off it's great to have Ron back for this! But yeah, I had such low expectations for this movie and I am shocked how much I enjoyed it and just how well they were able to pull the whole thing off. There were so many things I enjoyed in this movie but like a lot of people are saying the "Time in a Bottle" scene with Quicksilver was my favorite. I went to a late Sunday night showing so there were not very many people in the theater and I think all of them reacted with a clap or cheer at the end of that scene. All of the little things thrown in there were great too like the comment about Quicksilver's mom and even the four horsemen in the background of the post credits scene. I'm going to have to check this one out again for sure, but I've got it up there with X2 as my favorite X-Men film I think.
May 3, 2014 10:12 pm I don't think anyone is talking about this because Gwen Stacy dying is like, the thing she is most famous for. It's one of the biggest moments in comic book history and is looked at as a turning point for both Spider-man and comics as a whole. I mean, did you not know she dies in the comics? If not then I guess I can understand you being upset but I don't get where you come up with her being a damsel in distress, in the comics that's what she was, but here the only reason she is even there to be killed is because she just fixed the power grid and saved hundreds, if not thousands of people. She was just as big of a hero in this as Spider-man was really. And with regards to you last comment, people felt Man of Steel was soul crushing because they felt it betrayed the character from the comics, her death here was almost exactly like it was in the comics and this movie actually improved her character and made her heroic.
May 3, 2014 7:48 pm I agree mostly with Paul's take on this, I recognize there are some flaws but the good just outweighs the bad for me. I do wish they had done a better job on some of the dialogue from the villains and I wish they had cut out some of the parents stuff and a few other things, but the rest of the movie was so good these things didn't bother me all that much. I think Garfield and Stone are fantastic in this and it's the best interpretation of Spider-man in any of the movies.
April 30, 2014 10:57 am I finally got around to watching this and while I think I enjoyed this a bit more I do tend to agree with just about everything said on the podcast. I really think this could have worked better if it had just been a Black Widow solo feature, then they could have developed the relationship with Elias better and shortened the whole thing overall. As a Black Widow fan I thought she was handled very well in this other than some of the romance stuff, but I think I attribute those few things to it being an Anime movie.
April 10, 2014 1:26 pm This is how I distinguish the two: in MoS you have things like Superman taking a fight out of a cornfield and into Smallville as opposed to the other way around, and never doing much to show he cares about limiting damage or civilian casualties. Here they aren't given much choice but they make specific points to show the heroes trying to limit civilian casualties. Also, the collateral damage in CATWS is nowhere near the scale of MoS, really in this a few buildings and streets are destroyed along with SHIELD HQ, where in MoS a significant part of Metropolis and most of downtown Smallville (needlessly) are destroyed.
April 7, 2014 2:31 pm Originally that was the case, even in the early Avengers books he was referred to by villains as the "weakest Avenger". As time went on though he has kind of become more of a low level super-human, I'm not sure if there is a clear reason for that story-wise or if it's just the direction writers just decided to take him in.
