March 18, 2012 2:10 pm I love Carol Danvers and like Kelly Sue's writing. That being said, I REALLY dislike the new costume and hair and, what's worse - the interior art does NOTHING for me. Sad panda. :^(
January 25, 2012 11:28 am Wow! Truly disturbing.
January 12, 2012 12:37 pm Good article Molly, and I can completely see your point - however, two things: 1) The good news is, printed comics will still be around for a good while in tandem with digital. 2) That dinosaur is the mirror...just might be you. That being said, I think it's okay to be a bit prehistoric when it comes to some things. Not everything needs to be shiny and new throughout the 70-80 years we're on this planet. We can marvel al some new stuff while cherishing some old stuff. Hell, as I type this, I'm listening to Dinah Washington on my iPhone.
December 27, 2011 9:25 am I received a great second-hand book from my niece: "FIRE & WATER: BILL EVERETT, THE SUB-MARINER, AND THE BIRTH OF MARVEL COMICS" from Fantagraphics (2010) I also got $40 of iTunes gift cards that will be used to buy digital comics. Yaay.
October 25, 2011 10:31 am Hey, did ya hear about the new Sentry mini series?... SENTRY : The Power of a Million Shedding Tears Coming This Valentines Day Brought to You by Kleenex
October 12, 2011 10:58 am Great Googley Moogley!!!! I am grinning and bouncing in my chair right now. And after ten consecutive viewings...I am so gonna get in trouble at work. Ahhh, what the hell. :: hits play ::
October 4, 2011 9:06 am Their insurance premiums must be through the roof. All I can imagine is the CEO of Damage Control sipping a martini on his yacht -- "Mmmmm...Avennnggerrrssss".
September 30, 2011 8:34 am You're so right. I teach Photoshop at a local college and am always looking for examples of bad Photoshop examples. THANKS Entertainment Weekly!! (Independent of this quip, I am uber-excited for the Avengers Movie)
September 15, 2011 3:38 pm Thanks for the hard work. Looking forward to the mobile-version returning.
September 13, 2011 12:22 pm Unfortunately, my local comic book shop is the kind of dark, dingy, overstuffed hole your average joe (and, specifically, his kids) would be too afraid to walk into. The owner is "comic book guy" from the Simpsons in all his portly, unkempt, sarcasm and he wouldn't know the basics of customer service if it bit him on his sizable behind. And after four years of going there, I still have no idea what his shop's hours are as he seems to be open when he feels like it. Perhaps not surprisingly, I don't feel the least bit bad about switching to digital. As more titles become day & date available digitally, I spend less time at his shop and more on my iPad. Once Marvel goes all (or mostly) day & date digital, I'll likely never set foot in his shop again.
