‘Young Justice’ – S02E13 – “Fix”
January 27, 2013 8:49 pm Every episode of this show makes me miss the old DCU. To be fair, the characters still aren't quite the same as they were in the DCU, but they are so much closer than the lifeless husks that populate the new52. Maybe not lifeless, but... superficial? Young Justice has done such a great job of making these characters feel like they have a rich history together in a way the comics of late have not. I wish this had been the new universe that spun out of flashpoint.

SWAMP THING #15
December 6, 2012 1:22 am Can you really call Rudy a fill-in artist? It seems to me that he's drawn as many, if not more, issues of the this series. Either way, I think his art is just as beautiful as Paquette's.

October 15, 2012 12:30 am I would totally buy a Jim Gordon solo book written by Snyder. What I'd really like to see thought is a new Gotham Central series. Written by Snyder and Layman perhaps?

Interview: Grant Morrison on MULTIVERSITY & Exclusive Frank Quitely Art
September 30, 2012 11:42 pm I don't think knowledge of DC's multiverse will have much impact on the story. I think the stories will be mostly self contained. However, I do believe the settings and characters will be taken from throughout comics history and so a working knowledge of stories published by DC (and apparently Image and Marvel based on this interview) will add to your enjoyment of the series. It seems like Morrison tries to pack in little tidbits for people who are more well versed on comics history while keeping the main plot pared down for everyone to enjoy. Like with the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh and the Batman of Africa.

September 13, 2012 10:05 pm I used to do this all of the time. I loved trying to make a timeline of all the Batman stories (and by extension, all DC stories in general). The New 52 really ruined that for me. These characters aren't the same characters they were before. Sure everyone treats Batman's chronology like it hasn't been altered, but the Batman from Year One is the same Batman who revealed his identity to Catwoman in Hush. He's the same Batman who knocked out Guy Gardner in one punch. He was the Batman who watched his city collapse from a 7.6 earthquake and rebuilt it after saving it from becoming a No Man's Land. These things are gone. This is a new Bruce Wayne. A new Red Hood Gang. Even a new Gotham. I don't mind it as much as I thought I would. Quite frankly, I'm enjoying getting to know them all over again.

FanExpo 2012: Geoff Johns & David Finch Team for JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA
August 26, 2012 7:01 pm I wonder why the backdrop is a tattered American flag and a desolated cityscape. Just Finch putting in a background or a hint at the group's origin?

Heads Up: DC Comics Previews – November 2012
August 26, 2012 7:00 pm JL is a new arc and I have no problem with Daniel stepping up to do an interlude arc. I don't mind a different artist on different arcs though. I think this was done quite well on Detective with Jock and Francavilla alternating. And I didn't mind the way it worked on Morrison's Batman and Robin. If the fill in comes in the middle of an arc though? I'd much rather just wait. The last issue of Morrison's Batman and Robin was a bit of a mess with three different artists contributing. All great artists, but they did not mesh well.
