Short list this week actually:

New Avengers #59

Fantastic Four #573

Chew #6

Northlanders #22

Goon #33

I am most excited about reading Goon. Like Patman2, I have never read Goon in single issue and it looks like Powell is planning some fun stuff. Also, this year is rumored to be back on schedule. And Fantastic Four, just wow! I have not read FF in years. Only Hickman could drag me back.

Thanksgiving: Bad food with the mother in-law and sulking later... Whoa is me.

August 7, 2009 3:26 am Man I do love this book. People complain about paying $3 for a comic it takes 8 minutes to read. Well, I say, poppycock! Chew 3 had me pausing for laughter every other page and then rereading like rewinding the movie parts I miss during an outburst of yuk yukking away.  Chew took me 30 minutes to get through on the first read. Money well spent on a work well done. My pull list numbers have taken a dip lately. If books like Chew start coming out more frequently I will need to go back to the negotiation tables with my wife for more Wednesday cash.

Captain Britain and the MI-13 is the only Marvel title that I look forward to each month. This sucks. I tend to follow writers and Marvel has some greats now with Hickman, Remender, Fraction, Aaron but odds are I will never read their Marvel titles.  It's just more of the same characters with better writers. (I realize that is not a great argument logically it is merely a personal oberservation.) CB MI-13 was something different, it had a wow factor, a wtf factor. Marvel and DC are doing a great job of pushing folks to the indies to look for new great stories, artists and writers. Keep it up guys.

(That being said, I am very happy for these writers working for Marvel now and making a buck. Comic creators work damn hard. Better for fans when they don't have a day job getting in the way of creating.)

April 28, 2009 1:15 pm I am a big fan of the first four. I am just wrapping up The Losers and I absolutley agree with Josh about Jocko's art. Amazing! Along with Nick Klein's art in Viking, Jocko's work is the most excited I have been about comic visuals in some time. I highly recommend Strange Girl to anyone who hasn't read it. It is a very funny series and you will feel compassion, cheer on, and love Bethany Black in the same way readers of Fear Agent do Heath Huston (Well maybe not in the same way she's hot!). I'll try to pick up Screamland.

Conor - Locke and Key

Josh - Air

Ron - Goon

I really don't care how you split them up but you guys made the rules. I would just like to hear your opinions and thoughts on these books. I assume you will all chime in.  I look forward to it.

March 5, 2009 4:16 pm Here is one more I did not notice, artist http://twitter.com/nikkicook If you haven't heard of her you will soon.  She is working on DMZ with Brian Wood and a couple of other projects upcoming. Her art is "tres sexy". That technical critic speak for those not in the know.
October 8, 2008 11:09 pm I am a big fan of Templesmith and iFanboy. It would suck for Ben and you that the show about his work would be tainted by the sponsorship.  That being said, you guys get your "pay on"!  I am a big fan of payola as well.
