Great article. I grew up in the deep south and reading the X-Men as a kid helped me put the struggle for civil rights in a context I could understand. Xavier's dream helped me understand the aspirations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Magneto showed me what Malcom X meant by "any means necessary."
I'd just like to voice my agreement with previous comments pointing out that anyone in man-panties will find entry into the He-Man-Woman-Haters club difficult.
BTW- I always enjoy this column. More please.
Excellent article. As much as I love traditional printed comics, I'm excited for the possibilities that arise when digital comic distribution is discussed. I look forward to your future columns.
