April 25, 2012 3:07 pm And are Singh and Piper a couple now?
April 25, 2012 12:23 pm That was the weakest issue of the series yet. I lost interest several times while reading it and went to do something else. That never happened with issues 1-7. And I was disappointed with the twist about the speed force. Now when Barry runs, it actually helps drain the excess energy of the speed force and prevent damage? It was a lot more compelling when Barry had to limit his speed. Now the tension of the fight with Cold from #6 and 7 seems meaningless. I wanted this issue to be really great, but I ended up disappointed. Here's hoping #9 can recapture the fun of the previous issues.
February 22, 2012 5:54 pm Absolutely loved this issue. Probably my favorite yet. I really felt the tension in the last few pages with the Speed Force levels rising, Cold closing in on Barry, and the Patty in danger. The only thing that I would have changed would be to have less of the story told through flashback. I was disoriented a few times on my first read. But amazing art and layouts, interesting characters, great story. 5/5 and POTW.
January 25, 2012 1:26 pm Loved the arc overall, but felt the ending was only a 4. My one complaint is that Flash takes down three meta rogues in one page without breaking a sweat using just a big splash of water. How are those guys ever going to seem a credible threat? Are they just suppossed to come across as joke villains?
January 4, 2012 1:57 pm Really liked this issue. My favorite one yet. But it was primarily the back-up feature on the Kents that won me over. I've never been a big Superman fan before, but this issue made me care about the Kents for the first time.
December 28, 2011 4:19 pm I'd never read an Aquaman comic before September, but after hearing the positive buzz I decided to give the first arc a shot. While I enjoyed this first storyline, I'm dropping the title after issue #4. I was hoping for more "meat" to the plot, but everything seemed to wrap up too quickly. Loved the art, but not enough punch to the story to keep me coming back. Looking ahead as a new reader, I don't care about Atlantis or who sunk it. Makes it easy to walk away and check out other books that I've missed like Animal Man and Swamp Thing.
December 28, 2011 4:13 pm The layouts were amazing in this issue, especially the page with the hand- and foot-shaped panels. But I gave this a four instead of a five because their weren't any "blow you away" visual moments like #1 and 2 had, and the issue focused almost entirely on Manuel. (Loved the creepy scene with Mob Rule emerging from a pile of amputated limbs, though!) The last couple pages have me very excited for issue 5. Give me more Flash!
