I second Parker's recommendation for "The Authority".  Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning are going good things in comics--and not just at Marvel. William Harm's Impaler (Top Cow), is a very fine book too.  To simply call it another vampire apocalypse book, is to do it, and yourself, a great injustice.
