March 6, 2012 10:24 am I will now expect a Westeros joke in every Top 5 list now...
February 28, 2012 1:13 am I've finally come to terms with my collecting habits. I've organized the comics I want to keep in 4 categories. 1. My silver age stuff (mostly Marvel) 2. My Kirby collection (nearly complete from 68-77) 3. My complete run of Captain America/TOS and 4. Runs I really liked that I haven't replaced with collected editions. Everything else sits for about a year, then gets yard-saled or given away. At last year's family yard sale, I put out my tub of carded Star Wars:POTF toys. Some kid about 9 (well, his mom) gave me $25 for all 50 or so of them. I asked him what he was going to do with them, thinking maybe he's a collector in the making, but he said he was going to rip 'em open and play with them. I felt a little jealous because I realized I kind of wanted to do that too, instead of them sitting in my garage attic since 1995.
February 1, 2012 4:04 pm I'm a little disappointed there is no Art & Franco Watchmen Babies.
February 1, 2012 3:58 pm Oh yeah, that's right... someone did make Star Wars prequels. I was thinking more of Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. Total cash grab.
February 1, 2012 7:50 am I would buy Darwyn Cooke drawing WalMart planograms. I'm interested, it could be good. When has a prequel ever let me down?...
November 3, 2011 8:44 am I might have to check that one out, was a little scared of it. My local shop has it for $80. I bought Tide Of Iron for about that much a couple years ago and played it once... I've been playing my old SPI quad games a lot lately. 30 Years War, Napoleon At War, Blue & Grey, and West Wall quads. Quick and easy gaming.
November 3, 2011 8:20 am @itsbecca I would have given the blank stare at The Decemberists until I heard The King Is Dead. Like DCFC before Narrow Stairs, I kind of knew of their stuff before, but then each of them made an album that was right up my alley.
November 2, 2011 6:33 pm Hex-based table top war games, hard to find opponents. Classic Fender guitars and amps, hard to find cash....
November 2, 2011 6:29 pm I get the same thing... I play in a band, and known as a 'music guy', but when asked about what I listen to I get blank stares from the general public. Paul Westerberg, Bob Mould, Wilco, DBT, Ryan Adams, Jayhawks... It's popular to me!
October 24, 2011 4:36 am I'm not usually much of a moon-landing-denier, but I feel a hint of DC-ness in some of these Marvel books. The Serpent in Fear Itself felt a little Darkseid/Anti-Life Final Crisis-like, the whole hammers/rings thing, the Fearless weekly follow-up sounds a little Brightest Day-ish, Uncanny #1 maybe a little New 52-y. Happenstance and circumstance I'm sure. Also, I think the Juggernaut on the Fearless cover is ok... From what I can gather from Fear Itself 7 and the recent preview of Fearless right here on iF is that it takes place afterwards and all the Hammery folks turned back to normal looking. A final chapter of an event doesn't get a sniff in POTW voting? Telling and sad.
