July 5, 2010 6:21 pm I'm excited for the trade. I loved Gabrial Ba's work on Umbrella Academy and Fraction's writing has always been interesting.
June 29, 2010 8:17 pm I'm glad she's finally discovered pants.  Don't know about the jacket... I really hope it isn't denim.
April 16, 2010 10:41 am I love digital comics but I am not going to spend any significant amount of money until new comics are available.  So while Graphicly is the coolest and best executed digital comics platform I've seen, (the interface is really sleek and I like the idea of a consistent library across platforms and the web) I don't really see anything I want to buy in the marketplace.  Give me new issues of Irredeemable, get DC and Marvel on board, and get some more current comics.  Digital comics will only make sense when they can match whats available at the comic book store.  Then I can happily give Graphicly my money.

July 16, 2009 8:47 am Great issue! It definately set up for an exciting romp through DC history and an exciting conclusion to Geoff John's Green Lantern triology that started with Rebirth.  The scape of this event is daunting, covering nearly every comic character in the DCU, from the Batman, to Superman, to the Flash, to the Teen Titans and even Aquaman.  Can't wait to see what happens next.
July 15, 2009 10:49 am Fraction's Annual from a few years back was amazing. While this issue didn't hit quite that bar it was still a really fun read.

@Tork - great notes man, you did a real good job of including the funny stuff too.

Concerning coverage, I dont come to Ifanboy for up to the minute news on the happenings of the industry.  I come for the culture and opinions.  Really, who hasn't jumped too fro the news sites this week.  I know I have made my rounds about the internet trying to find out whats going on in San Diego.  Anyway, I can't wait to see the giant show next week and all the interviews.  Thanks guys for doing what you do, loving comics (and carrying large bags filled with cameras and stuff around a huge convention center, while not eating or sleeping during most of it to deliver me and a bunch of other people the awesomeness of the SDCC.

July 25, 2008 1:27 am I liked the trailer a lot.  It didn't get me hyped like the 300 trailer did, but it convinced me that Watchmen was in good shape.  Dr. Manhattan was perfect and I love the bit with Rorschach at the end.  However, I wonder how they are going to deal with all the background information found outside the comic panels and if they will address it at all in the movie.

The delays involved with Civil War didn't just affect that book alone but affected Marvels whole line of books and a bunch of creators own vision for their own books.  I think Marvel is playing it safe this time by taking Yu off New Avengers so he can focus on Secret Invasion, however I just hope Bendis' story doesn't drag on forever.  Come on get out of the jungle.

But anyway, great article Ron.  It was a good read for someone (like me) who doesn't know all the background information surrounding the industry.

June 24, 2008 7:16 pm Death Note - Yes there are twelve volumes, however the first volume should get you at least interested in the series.  As most everybody above has mentioned, this book is about a kid that finds a notebook that allows him to kill people by writing their name in it.  Yet the rules surrounding the death note, the use of multiple death notes, and the morality involved in the killing is very intriguing.  Also the writer is able to paint himself into a corner and find a way to get himself out of it and without being hammy or stupid, and each arc adds a different layer upon the series that continues to captivate the reader.  So give it a try, please, and if you don't like it blame the Ifanbase because over half of the posters here are recommending it.
