Name: Tyler Reed

Bio: I LOVE STORIES. I started reading comics, mostly in trade form, in 2010; after enjoying so many of the stories as movies, I wanted to try out the source material. My new hobby quickly became an addiction(the good kind) and I'm so glad I gave comic books a chance. CURRENT FAVORITES: Mignolaverse, The Unwritten, Fatale, FF, Young Avengers, Manhattan Projects, Saga, Winter Soldier, The Massive, Wonder Woman, and Daredevil.

May 17, 2013 6:25 pm Wow! This sucks, I really don't know what the hell is going on at DC. Why don't the higher ups understand how bad this looks, they seem to think they can just ignore the problem and it'll go away. I think they are in for a rude awakening. it's getting easier and easier to just stop buying DC books, cause they keep canceling/ruining the ones I'm reading.
May 17, 2013 3:32 pm Hahaha! Nice Paul, I saw your personal connection right away because I follow you iFanboys on Twitter(I'm @theotherbluth). My personal nomination is FF #7, the throwback to covers with an actual scene--and dialogue--on them won me over right away. My runner-up is Fatale #14, because Sean Phillips is a master, and I'm a sucker for hot chicks with guns, and WWII, and this cover had both.
May 17, 2013 3:19 pm With each successive issue, I love this title more. The entire cast is interesting, though Bentley-23 and Darla have emerged as my favorites, there isn't a single character I dislike even remotely. Fraction has done a wonderful job of balancing the developments of the rather large team, and mixed the drama and comedy to great effect story-wise. I also really like that the two books (F4 & FF) are starting to connect, albeit subtly. Team Allred continues to knock it out of the park every time; from facial expressions, to fight scenes, every page is gorgeous. I can't wait for the next issue.
May 17, 2013 3:06 pm I really enjoyed this issue. Arcudi did a fine job setting up the mission, and introducing some more of the Bureau's regular joe agents. The last page has me hungry for the next installment, though I may need to do a refresher of the last few story arcs to keep all the new developments straight. Some may see this as a negative, but I'm always happy to re-read some BPRD. In fact, I would be kind of bummed to read a book where the story developments were so simple that I never needed to go back and refresh; complex sagas like this title make me feel like I get more for my money. Laurence Campbell did a fantastic job for his first foray into the world of BPRD, his chiaroscuro style fit the bill perfectly. This year there have been many wonderful additions to the artist bullpen of the Mignolaverse books, and each one has brought something different and exciting to the table.
May 13, 2013 11:56 pm Thanks for clarifying things Conor and Kurtis, that makes a lot more sense.
May 13, 2013 8:25 pm Evil babies are cool, and this book has been a blast.
May 13, 2013 8:22 pm I agree with everything you guys have said, this book is wonderful.
May 13, 2013 8:12 pm I should add, this is my assumption, I don't actually know the ins and outs of how Image works.
May 13, 2013 8:10 pm I think Image books are all based on what the creator(s), is willing to make/lose doing a book. It's not set up like the big two, where creators get page rates, and sales need to justify cost. I'm pretty sure at Image creators get whatever amount the book sells(e.g. Fatale sells 3,000 copies at $3.50, Brubaker and Phillips get $10,500 minus the printing costs)
May 12, 2013 9:37 pm Great Show as usual guys. Since you did a three favorites list, I wanted to join in. Hellboy Batman Daredevil
