Why are we reminded that Reed can stretch, Green Lanterns can't affect the color yellow, or that Daredevil got powers from radioactive waste in his eyes?

Because every comic book is somebody's first comic book.

i like the fact that each issue has a different artist. chris sprouse is one of those artists i've never followed, but now that's all changed. time for me to buy some alan moore stuff.

while they all sound good, i am looking forward to the noir/detective issue the most.

I believe that the last two pieces of art are by Gil Kane, you can see it in the way he drew hands.

As for the rest, remember Jack Kirby could actually draw quite well in a variety of different styles. The style that we know best was developed for speed.

What's funny about magical characters is that there aren't any parameters for what magic folk and can't do. Zatanna is the only magic character I can think of WITH any parameters. She's gotta speak to cast spells.

 Either way, Mr. Dini is a great writer and I'll check it out for sure.
