DC Histories: The Ray
December 28, 2011 4:05 pm More than any other character, I'd love to see Ray Terrill get a fresh chance at shelf space. I loved the mini-series, but everything after it was not good at all to me (although I faithfully bought all of it). Still, he was my favorite DC character in the 90s and I'd love to see him get a book in the new 52.

An Image Problem
December 6, 2011 3:56 am I agree that Image, in hindsight, was a necessary evil. Most of the problem seemed to be "we can make superheroes just as well as those companies" instead of trying to make comics as well as those guys. Look at the bestsellers at Image now...

REVIEW: Wolverine & The X-Men #1
October 26, 2011 5:17 am I'm always a bit mystified when I see a book is "too wordy". I don't care how beautiful someone's art is (and I love Bachalo, one of my favorites), but if there aren't enough words for me to spend some time with the book, I'm not getting my money's worth. IMO, the pictures are there to enhance the writing, not the other way around. That said though, the book was pretty good, enough that I'll stick around for a bit to see how it goes. I've tried several different X-arcs over the past few years, but they always do something to mess it up within 2-3 issues... guess we'll see how this one goes :)

A Marvel Guy Rates The DC Books: Week Three
September 30, 2011 3:39 pm I , for one, completely agree with you on Wonder Woman! It seems like everyone is making tons of excuses for Azzarello writing one of the worst introduction issues I've ever seen. Ah, who am I kidding... I'm just glad someone agrees with ME, I was starting to feel like I was the only one who drank the Kool-Aid.

PREVIEW: INCREDIBLE HULK #1 by Jason Aaron and Marc Silvestri
September 29, 2011 11:20 am I will most likely flip through this, but from the preview it doesn't look like the kind of Hulk story I enjoy. I'd much prefer a back-to-basics approach.

Pick of the Week – 09.21.2011 – Wonder Woman #1
September 22, 2011 7:30 pm The intros have been a little clunky in places, but I chalk that up to the skill of the writer; I still think it's a necessary function. Who likes to start movies in the middle?

Pick of the Week – 09.21.2011 – Wonder Woman #1
September 22, 2011 4:35 am I was really surprised by this as PotW; I came out of the book knowing as little about Wonder Woman as I did going in. Hell, even Batman rated an introduction in his books, you'd think Azzarello could give us a little bit to grab onto. The plot is fine for what it is, but so far the execution has me feeling like I missed an issue or three.

WONDER WOMAN #1
September 21, 2011 2:03 am Great review! I totally agree on the pants issue, as I've stated many times before. DC will always have a hard sell to women if they keep dressing their female characters like hookers. I was less than impressed with the issue; one of my points of interest in the relaunch has been getting to know characters that I didn't previously read. I figured that was fair since DC is making the biggest readership drive in comics history. This issue gave me little indication of WW's history, origins, character... not much of anything. Hell, even Batman had a bit of back story on the character, and I would argue that only Superman is as known in our culture. It was an interesting start to a story, I just wanted more about WW so I had someone to side with along the way.

BIRDS OF PREY #1
September 20, 2011 11:36 pm Totally agree on the flashbacks, they are some of the smoothest and most cinematic I've ever seen in a comic! Great review of a great issue!
