April 19, 2012 1:07 pm Yeah, I was actually disappointed when my son didn't want me to read him issue #10 before bed last night.
April 11, 2012 8:04 am I'm disappointed that Ponticelli isn't inking his own stuff anymore. Last issues book looked like any other book on the shelf, as it was missing that edge that it had originally.
April 10, 2012 7:31 pm If Superman had a better rogues gallery, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
March 30, 2012 12:04 pm Wow, an enjoyable Superman comic book. Normally, this wouldn't be cause for celebration, but after Perez' word marathon, Straczynski's walking marathon, and Robinson's no-Superman marathon...it's good to get back to it in the titular title.
March 16, 2012 11:45 am Aarghhh! My store got shorted on Saucer Country, so my most anticipated book of the year so far gets delayed another week. In the meantime, at least I've got that awesome song by Janelle Monae now downloaded on my iPod. Thanks for the heads up...that song is killer!
March 16, 2012 8:10 am I love that costume design by Bryan Hitch!!
March 15, 2012 11:16 am Well sure, arbitrarily take out some actual sales because of some undefined criteria and anything could be a top ten book. I'm sure other books would have been top ten back when New Avengers originally came out if you would have discounted all the hype that book had after Disassembled.
February 27, 2012 1:25 pm Over time, the spines of the book will put a pronounced curl in the book that is pressed up against it. You can sort of remedy this by sliding a backer between the issues, but that doesn't stop the same thing from happening to the books on the outside of the bag interacting with the books on the outside of the bag next to it. So yeah, if you're looking for pristine over the long haul, one book per bag and backer.
February 23, 2012 9:26 am So you basically didn't have to read the first five issues of this storyline, as Perez essentially spends half of this issue explaining everything that happened in the first five. That was helpful, as I had no clue what the larger story was during the whole arc. Overall, this was a very disappointing opening arc. I had such high hopes, but they crashed and burned under the weight of 10,000 words (and that was just the first issue!). It wouldn't have even been that bad if there would have been something in those first five issue for us to grab onto, but it wasn't until halfway through the last issue that anything made sense. Here's hoping that Giffen and Jurgens ignore these first six issues and start again. And to end on a positive note, it was only half as long as Grounded was so at least it had that going for it.
