May 23, 2012 9:05 pm I think the best word for this is.....ridiculous. I saw the image of her in the woods and it looked awesome! But here? Eh.....looks really silly if I'm honest. Not sure why because Michonne is great in the comics. Maybe I just can't lift the suspension of disbelief for a TV show that some is fantastic using a samurai sword in a zombie show.
May 23, 2012 9:03 pm Woooo!!! I've been waiting for this the moment DC started this animated venture. All we need is Kingdom Come to be adapted and I can die happy. I like it this is being released in two parts. Cause, I hope, it means that this will be faithful to the entire story and not cut out anything. Why make it two parts if they were still going to cut material out? Then again.....we can cut the Nazi's. I'd be okay with that.
May 23, 2012 9:00 pm I'll just pile it on: How could you not like DKR!? I mean I hate Frank Miller today but it doesn't make me dislike this story.
May 22, 2012 10:35 pm @Andrew: I didn't see The View, or in this case Whoopi, announcing this as it happened but I gotta imagine she (and her co-workers) had no idea what they were talking about. "Astonishing X-Men?" "Northstar?" These things are alien to them.....and so is Northstar to Marvel considering they got his fucking name wrong two issues ago in the same book.
May 22, 2012 9:44 pm @sitara: I know I said his name about a million times in my last review. So instead of boosting his ego I won't reference him again.
May 22, 2012 9:40 pm Two things: 1) Why can't this just be a normal story where two people, who just happened to be men, get married? Why make such a huge deal about this? I'm sorry but to make this such a big deal seems more offensive then not doing it at all. Especially with DC making a big big over one of their characters being gay. It's normal people! Let's not try and compete with each other to see who can do 'better' involving homosexuals. It's normal and it'll only be acceptable if we don't treat it like a taboo. 2) The View? Yes nothing say their audience like a bunch of middle age to senior women. Those are the people that will not only accept this idea but also buy the comic.....and if you can't tell that is sarcasm then let me spell it out clearer: Marvel will not increase the sales of Astonishing X-Men dramatically because they did this on The View.
May 22, 2012 9:35 pm This is a good list Jeff but I'm sorry, you gotta be insane not to put the All-Star death in this. One of the few moments where I almost cried while reading comic. Morrison nailed it there. (It doesn't have to be #1 but to not include it is crazy.)
May 21, 2012 9:47 pm What is Marville? Seriously I don't get it.... Also, Arkham Asylum: Living Hell is a wonderful book. Batman comes in late but for the most part it's a inmates only comic. So think of it like Gotham City Central but with 20% more Batman. Great comic. Other key moments that occurred during this day in history: 1881: The American Red Cross is founded. 1927: Charles Lindbergh lands in France, completing the first non-solo trip across the Atlantic. 2003: Bob Hope turns 100 years old, quipping: "I'm so old, they've canceled my blood type." 2005: The tallest roller coaster in the world, Kingda Ka (456ft), opens in Six Flags New Jersey.
May 21, 2012 9:36 pm Is it possible to marry a comic book? I wanna have babies with this Godzilla comic.....MANY babies.
May 21, 2012 9:34 pm I want to know how Cullen Bunn has now become one of the hottest writers at Marvel. The Sixth Gun is a great book but I didn't think it would get him to write almost everything at Marvel given this pace.
