Name: Andre Mason

Bio: Just an average guy from Brooklyn, looking for greatness in the comic realm. Tired of dreaming about comics, it's time to make them now. The passion is there, but the time isn't. Ah...the pangs of adulthood.

The debate can go back and forth whether or not Geoff Johns is doing a phenomenal job on Green Lantern;…

September 19, 2011 4:31 pm If you blinked at all during this, you would have missed another Wildstorm carry over. The doctor Superboy refers to as "Red" is Caitlin Fairchild from Gen 13. She looked familiar to me, but I couldn't place her at first. Then when the computer was identifying her and it didn't say her name fully, that's when I knew. Very nice easter egg DC!

I think reading comics in public is great. I read comics all the time on the train going to work, home or anywhere I am going.

There are times when you wonder if other people are checking out what you're seeing. I had the same and somewhat embarrasing experience with Buffy #34 as well. There's been a few Apollo/Midnighter shock moments and especially if I am reading The Boys, which I now read at home. Just recently I had a woman sitting next to me, while I was reading Invincible (vol 12) when Invincible has that really big fight with Conquest. I heard her go "oh my god that's bloody" when she sees the huge and largely detailed spreads that were there.

I also find that I get into conversations with other readers, whom also read the same titles, which is pretty awesome. That I find is the greatest thing about reading comics in public -- connecting to other readers of the title.

On the flip side, reading them can get dangerous. A little kid took a book right out of my hands while I was reading it. His mother gave it back to me and apologized for it. She tried to give me the money back for it, but when I told her the book was $2.99 her jaw dropped.

Thanks for the inspiring words as always Josh.

I have the same dream and the same passion, but get caught up in the myriad of ways writers either break in vs. how they get in other ways. It always seemed like a combination of luck, knowing someone, talent and being at the right place at the right time. Sometimes even gaining attention from writing other stuff or being published in other ways. I never know which is the right way or a good way to get into this industry. It's a deterrent for me and I get discouraged easily from it. All i know is that I'm bursting with creativity and I need an outlet for it. I want to create great comics. After reading this, I'll take it as a sign to get back on the horse and keep going. Thanks again Josh!

MacQuire as Spider-Man.

Bale as Batman.

Ledger as The Joker.

Craig as James Bond.

We've all bitched ad nauseum about all of the above, because we couldn't possibly see them as our favorite anything, but they prevailed and gave us awesomeness on film. We've done this countless times and will continue to do so, as long as any comic/video game/novel/anime or whatever is being made into a live action movie. We all had people in mind to play this part. Hell, I was banking on Jon Hamm myself, but it didn't happen. Ryan Reynolds got the part. And I'm sure, he knows how all the fanboys feel about this and he'll do his part to make GL a standout/fun movie, that's true to GL's spirit and core.

So RELAX PEOPLE! Reynolds is capable of this. I think what the lot of you is afraid of is this is going to be Van Wilder in Space or this is going to be an action comedy that was the horror of the FF movies. I don't think it's Reynolds as an actor that's got you worried, i think it's the thought of where the direction of this movie is now going with this selection of an actor. I believe Guggenheim & Campbell will blow us away. It's going to be a combination of the story and the actor that's needed to make this film ultimately cool. I have faith in them. We can't judge anything until we start seeing production in motion. And if things look bleak, then we can complain.

Until then, cope. Let's see where it goes. No one says that we have a Superman Returns on our hands just yet.

I'm not really shocked by this at all. At the end of the day, Marvel isn't just a comic book company, they're a media company, so why not act like one and cause the fans to jostle a bit with this kind of news? If they didn't, Captain America #600's solicitation read like a retrospective piece and may have gone under the radar.

When Superman died, DC waited exactly a year to bring him back. I'm surprised this lasted this long. Right now I'm more disappointed that Bucky is not going to have a chance to shine or for that matter any other character Marvel has allowed to grow in this book. Story wise, I felt it was great to see the book move long without Steve Rogers and as much as I hated it, I felt his death was a great catalyst to tell more stories with Bucky in the reigns. I loved that Black Widow, Sharon Carter and Falcon flourished as much as they did and I wanted Eli aka Patriot to be seen more, considering he's part of Rogers' legacy as well, but do we need this now? Perhaps not. Maybe we do. Maybe this is what brings the MU out of Osborne's Dark Reign? Maybe this is the unifiying detail our Avengers needed to be whole again?

Or maybe Marvel screwed the pooch on killing Steve Rogers in the first place and received total flack for doing so and in haste decided to change things back to normal. Then again, when haven't they screwed that particular pooch? Poor, poor pooch. Anyways, I'm on board, because Brubaker is amazing and I'm sure he'll make this all logical and fit, but not forced and Hitch's art will be the single thread to bring this together. Not epic, but good none the least.

Conor, I agree 100% with you.

I just read it on the train ride home. It was a pretty awesome read! Tim has always been a great character to me and there's a new depth to him now in the Red Robin costume. Not unlike when Dick adopted the Nightwing moniker; Tim's growth will be exciting to read.

The entries that won are amazing!

I love Humpty's Revenge!

This was a fun project. I feel really accomplished. I posted my entry to the forum and I hope people enjoy it.

DREAM ALERT! I think we should all follow the suggestions of the iFanboy team and collaborate our stories and art together to create an anthology book and get them all published. I would love if the iFanboy crew would assist.
