First off, it’s plum necessary to agree with the comments (and Mark Millar’s afterword) – this is a dense book. …

My Digital Comics Dilemma
September 13, 2011 1:38 pm I'm half and half - buying my fave books in hardcopy every few weeks, but going to use Comixology to catch up on my-second-tier-of-interest DC titles. Already read the first few issues of The Invisibles on Comixology and loved the experience.
Any word on Graphicly selling DC comics? Out of support for iFanboy I'd rather buy books through your parent company.

September 13, 2011 7:35 am Everything I'm reading gets a few issues grace. Hawk & Dove isn't one of them - but I really can't see that one lasting.

September 12, 2011 2:30 pm Additional question - how long will it take sales-wise for DC to start (whisper it) cancelling the less-succesful titles? When do they make that decision? Issue 5 or 6 ish?
I don't ask as a defeatist, I just can't see ALL of the titles going on indefinitely like some of the flagship titles. When does the New 52 become the Few-Months-Old 44? Or is the plan to always have 52 titles, replacing those that fall with new ones?

September 12, 2011 2:20 pm Can anybody vouch for the writer or artist? I'm troubled - is my love for Harley Quinn going to outweigh the fact I have little interest in this otherwise?

Comics’ Bipolar Episode
September 12, 2011 2:15 pm I'm excited for the first time in quite a while - I swore of both Flashpoint and Fear Itself earlier in the year because the early issues did little for me. I was getting bored of superhero comics to a staggering degree. But the new 52 intrigued me (aside from Grant Morrison on Batman, I wasn't reading anything from DC). The opportunity of a 'fresh start' appealed - clearing the table and starting again. Obviously the table isn't as completely clean as it could have been, but the four books I've picked up so far (JL, Animal Man, Swamp Thing and Action Comics) have all been excellent in their own individual ways. I'm actually excited to go the store every week, when recently I'd cancelled my pull list and rarely ventured into town with the specific intention to buy books
As for Marvel, I just changed what I was reading. Bye-bye directionless X-Titles, and bye-bye huge events I didn't care about. Hello Moon Knight, hello Uncanny X-Force, hello Daredevil (new and old). Plus I've finally gone back and started reading Bendis Ultimate Spiderman, which I'm loving a dangerous amount.
I've managed to come to a realisation (an obvious one, but one that it took me a while personally to get to due to some misplaced sense of my simmering fanboy rage) that just because there may not always be as many comics coming out right now that I'm digging, there's always plenty of recent/older stuff that's knockout quality as long as I go looking. Money is always a factor, but if I'm poor because I'm buying the books I don't like, I have only myself to blame for my empty wallet; if I'm poor and entertained, so be it!

September 12, 2011 1:52 pm I was very surprised to find out which of the books had sold out of BOTH my LCS: Detective Comics and Stormwatch. Everything else they still had numerous copies, but those two were like golddust.
