November 12, 2008 12:32 pm Well put, Mike.  I think it behooves publishers to figure out a way to offer a viable (and legal) way for readers to access comics online.  Marvel.com has the right idea, getting out in front of the curve.  I like my paper issues as much as the next guy, but I would definitely pay a monthly fee to read all the titles I might not necessarily want to collect.  I don't like the idea of having to log into 5 or more publishers' sites to do this, though...maybe some sort of digital Discount Comic Book Service?
September 6, 2008 7:09 pm Loved the Power Records!  My bothers and I had a bunch, but the two that stand out in my memory as the cream of the crop were the Fantastic Four "The Way It Began" and Werewolf By Night "The Curse of the Werewolf." I used to wonder why they needed to alter some of the dialogue when translating them to audio.  I remember being 9 or 10 and sitting down with my "Origins of Marvel Comics" and the Power Records Fantastic Four and making a chart of all the dialogue differences between the two. Once a nerd, always a nerd...
June 17, 2008 5:21 pm Loved Tales to Astonish.  Once you've read that, you'll need to read Stan Lee and the Rise and Fall of the American Comic Book, by Jordan Raphael, to get the other side of the Lee-Kirby debate.

I have no local comic shop, but as I live right on the Canada/U.S. border, I use a mail-order service and have my books delivered to a P.O. box just across the line.  Never have a problem bringing them back and I have never had to pay any duty.  I wish I had a local store, but this system works pretty well.
