September 30, 2017 1:17 pm I had the same thought regarding creating my own continuity. Whatever part of me that used to get caught up on inconsistencies between different eras has been broken by years of reading comics. If we want Star Trek to continue for 50+ years we have to allow the creators a little creative licence. Just give me an original story in the Star Trek universe and I'm happy. Loved Discovery, looking forward to more.
September 23, 2017 4:52 pm I also read the first phone book and stopped there. This sounds great though. I'm glad to hear it gets a bit less dense as that's a big part of why I didn't continue. Looks like the whole series is available digitally here http://www.cerebusdownloads.com/index2v16s.html
April 4, 2017 4:36 pm I usually don't like these intro type books that Marvel does but this one worked for me. Probably because I haven't actually read an X-Men book in a while and this did a good job of catching me up and making me feel like X-Men is worth checking out again. It wasn't anything great but enough to get me interested. The Kittty stuff is straight out of astonishing though. Seems like they're playing it safe and sticking with something that works.
December 13, 2016 3:52 pm I can't believe how good The Flintstones is. Thanks for turning me on to it. Also picked up and enjoyed Avengers this week after this and the 1.1 issue got picks. My top 5 of the year: Lazarus Sex The Flintstones Thor The Black Monday Murders
May 23, 2016 2:10 pm Thanks for the show guys. That was lovely.
September 14, 2015 4:09 pm I really recommend checking out Tet #1 from IDW. It's a murder mystery/romance set during the Vietnam war. Felt a lot like War Stories. My pick this week for sure.
October 5, 2011 4:21 pm Last issue was great but this was a bit of a disappointment. The art was much less impressive and the writing didn't seem as strong either. Don't know if I want to stick with it any longer.
October 5, 2011 4:18 pm Wow. This was even better than the first issue. I really like how there's a little bit of humor mixed in with the horror.
October 5, 2011 4:15 pm This was a good improvement on issue #1. Characters are starting to come in to focus. Glad to see it's going in a very sic fi direction. Good stuff.
September 13, 2011 6:42 am The DC relaunch has me more excited about mainstream comics than I've been in quite some time. Some of these books have generated a level of excitement in me that I haven't felt since I first started reading Marvel and DC and the best one's feel more like independent comics. The move to a digital format has been a positive one for me. I have dropped every comic which isn't released same day digitally which is most of Marvel and dropping those books has been surprisingly easy. It's made me realise which books are really worth reading. Someone said earlier that they are not tired of comics they're tired of Marvel comics. I think that is true for me too and I didn't realise that until I stopped buying most of them. It's not that Marvel aren't doing good comics, they are but they just seem to be telling the same kind of stories that they have been for a while now. DC on the other hand now have a lot of variety in their line and that has me feeling excited for mainstream comics again.
