Name: Clayton Scholefield

Bio: "First comes smiles, then lies. Last is gunfire." - Roland Deschain, of Gilead.Big fan of comics in general. Batman and Daredevil are favorites, but also enjoy immensely what indy books have to offer. ASP, Oni, Top Shelf, and Dark Horse (can this really be called an "indy" any more?) are some of my favorite publishers. My big comicbook crisis is trying to determine what to read monthly and what to trade wait for. I never seem to have a handle on this sort of management. Sometimes I end up double-dipping!The gang at iFanboy here have done well to make me check out books that may not of hit my radar the first time around. Fear Agent and Fell are examples of this. I am greatful for the work they do here. I may not post much, but I am a daily visitor.

May 23, 2012 12:49 pm This was a long time coming. I have put off wanting to read this again so that I could read it in this format.
May 14, 2012 3:00 pm If I see dogs somewhere in the background, I'll simply have to make this my POTW. Can't wait to see Jill on this. ...and then 3 issues of freakin' Frazer Irving next!!!
May 14, 2012 2:57 pm This megacrime storyline really has to come to a conclusion soon. I'm just not into this. Plus, thanks to Ron (?), the bling really looks silly around his neck like that when he's fighting. Can't he roll it up and put it down his boot? On a positive note, 3rd issues of DD in 4 weeks!?!?! Insane!
May 14, 2012 2:50 pm I have been looking at this cover for weeks now and everytime I have to take a moment to make sure my geekout is in check.
May 8, 2012 3:37 pm "Hey, there is a printing error with my HC!" - a recurring comment to be found on the net tomorrow. (see Batman #5) The poor people at the bookstores will be most clueless.
April 26, 2012 12:25 pm Your review is pretty spot on with how I felt. It was a lot of fun.
April 24, 2012 1:17 pm I'm not a Moon Knight guy. Never was. Looking at the character's history, the only immediate thing that pops to my mind is that Bill Sienkiewicz did a fair chunk of work on it in the 80s. I had some of this stuff once. I liked it. Bendis and Maleev did a pretty good job here. I love their DD run, so I was in on this no matter what. They are a creative force that I pay attention to. Plus, I was hoping that Alex would channel Bill a little here. He did. I wasn't disappointed at all. I don't think I gave anything less than a "4" on each book. Now this wasn't up there with the best DD arcs that they did, but this was easily in the same entertainment value of some of those DD arcs. And Maleev gets full credit for seeming more looser with his art than some of his other recent work. This was a "win" for my comic bucks. I'll be looking out for an oversized HC collecting it all in one volume.
April 19, 2012 1:04 pm Holy shit is right! This was a bloody intense finish and I wouldn't want it any other way. Wow! Those last pages were simply bitter sweet. Peace at last! ...but only for one of them? No doubt, most things read well in trade form, but I love my BPRD fix too much to wait it out. Besides, Scott Allie is always a treat in the letter columns with hints and promoting future projects. Plus, when they decide to wrap up the Hell On Earth chapters (way down the road), I'm sure that we'll be seeing an omnibus treatment much like the Plague of Frogs HCs. I can pass on my issues free to new readers (as I have done) then buy these beauties.
April 4, 2012 11:07 pm I'm not a complainer. I'm really not. But this year's list is just off. There is really something wrong here. Aside from all the reasons given here already, did you know that Guy Davis (who I am a huge fan of) was given a nod in the short story cat. for work that is reprinted? Seriously, it was published in 2002. I used to be a big fan of of Eisners, but this is simply embarrassing. Wow.
March 20, 2012 2:45 pm Harren took it to an all new level of awesomeness with the first issue. I'm going to make a point of reading this one long after the sun goes down. Some terror will put me in a good mood.
