April 30, 2012 7:33 pm Naw, the more I see the less I like.
April 30, 2012 7:29 pm very good episode, digging it more than Green Lantern. Weird, GL seems to be targeted at a slightly younger audience than Young Justice, but both are in the same block. I don't like the Avengers cartoon.
April 20, 2012 11:43 am Wow,not good. 8 issues in and this book has been a big disappointment. The first 6 issue arc was more plot driven than story or character driven. And lets admit it, the resoulution was rushed and Darkside did nothing but throw some beams around, said very little as well. Where is character motivation? Issue 7 was fine as a filler, but this was weak. Boy this GA is a far cry from the Ollie we know and love. The old Ollie wouldn't join unless asked, not run after them like a bratty kid. They botched Green Arrow in the reboot, they botched Superman as well, and this book should be better than it is.
April 11, 2012 9:19 pm valid point, and I agree. The potential of that very first Morrison issue was gone by issue 3. We were dropped in the middle of something and had to play catch up. I still have no idea who Glennmorgan is. DC had some success with the new 52, like Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Aquaman plus Batman titles seemed not to miss a step, Green Lantern was also better. And as a Flash fan I'm enjoying it, but storywise I think its only a slight improvement over the past few years, so much bad, so much promise missing, and this seems to the thing it needed. But going into issue 7 I find the supporting characters flat, and the first arc a little anti-climatic. But the Superman line was a botched job, and I can't believe how bad they blew it for Superman # 1. Unreadable. Nearly a year in and we have no idea who he is as a person, just that he seems like a bit of a dick.
April 8, 2012 1:55 pm I saw it for the first time today, I agree on the goofiness it has, they try so hard for laughs that much of it falls uterly flat. Young Justice goes for seriousness, this one broad comedy aimed at a much younger age. I think Avengers is aimed at a younger audience as well. Caught that for the first time too. Both companies have a cartoon blocks now, though Marvel's seem to be a little less structured since it ran 70 minutes. While Marvel can do quality films, their animation leaves little to be desired. BTW, I really got a kick out of the Animal Man short yesterday.
April 5, 2012 1:44 pm It was really sad what they did to this character with the past few years.
March 19, 2012 3:16 pm I hope its better than the crap that is being published. Looks like they are going the Grell route, not the light hearted take of Smith, Meltzer or O'Neil. Hoping there's a bit of the old Ollie in there.
March 19, 2012 1:01 pm Very true, but I have bigger issues than that smh ending, one is Marcos To’s art. He's a fine draftsman yes, but he characters seem very similar in look. Moretti, the journalist Alessandro, and other men have the same build and facial features/hair, except that some have a beard or clean shaven. Hard to tell who's who at times. But then in issue 5 the Huntress commited murder. She killed am unarmed man. She killed the Chairman. When I read the ending of issue 5 I thought that it could have been a fake out, that the Huntress didn't really kill a defenseless man. But opening issue 6, it did clearly state that she did. And with us now knowing that this is Helena Wayne and not the Helena Bertinelli character, with Bertinelli I could maybe buy that she would commit cold blooded murder, not Helena Wayne. And that this is from the creator of the Huntress again makes me shake my head. I originally read the Helena Wayne series and bought the trade. Now I'm not against anti-heroes, I read the Punisher and love it, loved Kick Ass, but this is a big character change to Helena Wayne, Batman's daughter. It rang false and phoney as a moment, plus all of issue 6 seemed to have chopped off at the knees. A rush to finish it. So she kills the father and lets the son live? A bad ending to a promising book.
March 19, 2012 12:34 pm A step up from that confusing two parter, but I still hate the suit. The only Superman title I buy.
