July 11, 2013 12:13 am That was an amazing end to the Spider Slayer. Really loved this issue
July 1, 2013 12:43 pm I live in Toronto and the closest I get to major cons are Toronto Comic-Con, FanExpo and AnimeNorth. The lines for those are just as long with crowds of people there for different things. I remember the line for Halo 4 last year took up 1/5 of the con. But I don't think its completely a bad thing. I was introduced to comics as one of those people stuck in a line for something else and I've love reading them since, so did a few of my friends. As long as people are getting introduced to comics in some way its not a complete negative. However, I still agree with mostly everything you say.
June 15, 2013 7:26 pm The movie was good I suppose, it surprised me to say the least. I'm not much of a DC fan nor a Superman fan. The fight scenes where really drawn out. Not saying that the fight scenes were bad, they were INCREDIBLE. However, some of the action seemed pointless and nonsensical. (Throws an oil tanker at Superman, he dodges, THEN it blows up for no reason) It really felt that DC was trying to push out as much action and explosions as possible just to one-up The Avengers. (Marvel blew up 1/2 a city? Lets destroy A WHOLE CITY!) The first hour of the movie was really good, its got a good plot and got the movie really going with our main characters. With that said the movie doesn't know how to stop or let a scene really give emphasis. Everything moved really fast when it didn't need to be. The product placement was too blatant and the pacing really starts to feel rushed. The romance with Lois doesn't feel earned. She likes him cause he's mysterious and saves her 4 times, he likes her because why? The tone of the movie was inconsistent. It wasn't as serious as it should be for a Superman film and it lacks the proper wit and timing for it to be any funny or light hearted. Something I found off was Superman, being raised in a farm with no fighting ability, manages to defeat Zodd and his attack squad, people bred for fighting. I know that this isn't done easily and he gets his ass handed to him (which I REALLY enjoyed) but at the end with the climax where Superman does something really non-Superman was a complete turn off from the rest of the film, but by that point the film was practically over. Maybe I'm not the guy who should be so critical of the film but I did enjoy it, I just didn't expect some of the things in film.
June 5, 2013 6:41 pm I miss Peter as much as the next Spidey fan but Otto as Peter does have its perks. The story seems a bit more interesting to read and it's cool to see a Spider-man that does things a bit more efficiently and smarter too. (Spiderbots to see crime everywhere? Calling the fire department when there's a fire? pretty smart.) The only complaint I really have is Otto's obsession to say "SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN" every 2 or 3 issues.
May 20, 2013 7:06 pm Superior Spider-man #10 Scarlet Spider #17 BQ: The distraction or the guy who dies/gets caught during the heist.
April 27, 2013 6:49 pm I fear Otto and Peter will fuse in to one consciousness and Miguel is only in here to satisfy the fans and distract us.
April 17, 2013 10:34 pm I was pretty doubtful at first when I read Superior Spider-man #1 but I think that Slott has done something very interesting and shaken up the storyline quiet a bit. Slott obviously understands all these characters very well and every move they make seems believable The last page of Superior Spider-man #7 had me hyped for something really big but there was no real pay off, which is why I only gave it a 4/5. The story I think is well paced and is setting up for something big again let's just hope that this well have a decent pay off.
