Just read this issue, man what a turnover from the whole Shadowland event pile of crap. The first issue of after the fall definitely feels likes it's a Daredevil comic back to form(THANK GOD!). This also makes Shadowland remind me of the analogy "the end justifies the means". I loved when Iron fist stood in for Daredevil during Civil War so I'm excited to see Black Panther do the same.

As an aside I hope Billy Tan's work with DD is donel, he just doesn't have a gritty enough style and I just wasn't a fan of his work on Shadowland.

Also for the record, I've learned my lesson, I will NEVER AGAIN complain about Daredevil not getting his own event.
August 31, 2009 9:40 pm Yep, totally agree with you guys here. Aaron's Ghost Rider run has been great and this finale arc seems to have pulled out all the stops. I hope we see the Deacon kick some ass, that guy is just insane.

Not gonna lie...

This book sucked! The plot is completely rediculous, c'mon catwoman, poison ivy, and harley quinn teaming up at the riddler's  apartment(which is a total dump).... please!!! Its a dissappointment that Dini's return to batman comics after the fantastic Return of Hush arc on Detective comics is.... this, something that really feels like a half assed effort on Dini's behalf and a real dissappointment for fans(especially catwoman fans of the recently canceled series).

Just trying to imagine this book fitting in the same world as Grant Morrison's Batman and Robin or Dini's previous work on Detective comics is ludacris!! I think this is definitely the first misfire from the new slew of batman books post RIP. I wonder how this book will go down in the podcast.

I really hated how this comic read. Bendis has put out some really fantastic stuff before, but I would have never imagined the New Avengers spending a good chunk of the comic gathered around the tv sizing up their DA counterpart.

This issue also depicted the members of the DA as just being blindly obsessed with killing whoever, however, and whenever. After all the work and depth Ellis put into this Thunderbolts team it seems like it's going to get destroyed by this event.

I'm interested in what you guys thought of the preview for Hickman's FF preview in the back! I thought it didn't really stack up to the way Miller's been handling the characters but it was just a preview and Hickman's other marvel book was great.

@TNC:

Where are you getting this number? It's been stated on the standard attrition forum that the numbers regularly posted on the internet are inaccurate regarding this title at least. It's also been said that this book has been slightly gaining or holding to its issue base and does great in trade.

It's a great book and I wish I read it in issues but I started picking it up and trades and I'd hate to not be able to collect all of it in one format. This is easily one of my favorite books in print right now and the newest issue sounds like it's a fantastic read.

It sucks hearing one of your favorite books should be canceled and that publisihing it is not good for the publisher. This holds true for this book especially when this information is based on a source that may be inaccurate... so quit it!

All I can say is that Grant Morrison F'ING DELIVERED! The events and fights that took place in this issue were breathtaking, nothing short of OUTSTANDING! I

can't put this issue down, I've read it at least 3 times since picking it up from my lcs. Yay Final Crisis!!!

Honestly I agree with TheNextChampion. This is not the same quality writing as was featured in the Brainiac arc or say Rogue's Revenge. I realize this is a different type of comic, but it's just not that great imo. I think the art has also taken a huge step backwards especially in light of the newest preview posted up on newsarama.

That being said, I gotta give props to James Robinson and Sterling Gates. Both writers have been putting out fantastic work so far for the New Krypton event.

It was a great story but I gotta say overall, Daredevil The Man Without Fear edges out Born Again for best Daredevil story..ever (including 80's).

Wow, great gifts guys! I thought the Marvel Chronicle gift mentioned at the end though was genius. My family totally caught me off guard and gave me one for Christmas, gotta say it makes for a fantastic gift!

I was so close to picking up the Joker hc for a friend who loves everything Batman, but the trade dress and page count  doesn't seem to justify a hardcover format. Also good call on Lush Life, although I didn't get one for the holidays I'm definitely going to pick it up!
