February 16, 2011 4:54 pm @Endlessw  Probably the main reason I became vegan in the first place is because I DID grow up on a farm and watched my pigs (whome I fed and talked to) slaughtered. In that sense I think his bacground fits with the Millar/morrison vision. Nevertheless i agree that it shouldn't be forced.
February 16, 2011 4:11 pm Great article. As a former vegan who now eats bacon like it's going out of style, I can see how someone of Superman's inhuman ethics and admiration for life would try everything to minimize the amount of killing he causes. After all, meat means murder, and that's fine. Just not for Superman.,
P.S.: I saw my friends aura when i was tripping on mushrooms. Just sayin'
February 2, 2011 8:40 pm Well...I guess the main reason why I support Powell AND his message is because he was BULLIED into taking it down. It's kinda ridiculous when so many people get upset over the big two, it's not like the video posed any threat to them. Whatever happened to standing up for the underdog? 70 % of the market ain't no joke folks. At the risk of sounding like a jerk, this kinda reminded me of Mubarak supporters riding into the square on horseback, attacking the protesters. I wanna see more Powell-like voices of protest.
February 2, 2011 8:04 pm I agree with Tony Harris. Those "comic book guy" fans who invest so much of their lives in the big two and allow themselves to ged pissed off over a satire, would probably never read the Goon. I love comic books, as a MEDIUM, including superheroes. I think that the video was more focused on doing creator owned comics (Invincible, eh?) that are outside of Disney or WB's reach, than attacking their precious X-men's and Batman's. This superhero thing is like a damn addiction with some of those fellas. I mean, was 52 or Final Crisis really that good? It should be about diversity, yo!

January 26, 2011 11:25 pm Great show guys, I'm allways looking forward to wednesdays. This episode took me back a couple of decades when I encountered my first true fright in a comic book in the pages of Dylan Dog. I was really young, and at that point read a bunch of EC horror titles and Dylan Dog's (in Serbia), but it wasn't untill I looked at the cover of an episode with a female vampire, fangs exposed, ready to devour the world that I almost crapped myself. Hands down the most scary comic book experience of my life. My spine tinglles a little bit just thinking about it. Anyway, Dark Horse did re-issue six or seven Dylan Dogs in the U.S. (it's an Italian Bonelli comic), that's worth checking out.Although they didn't do the afforementioned episode, they did hit on a couple of classics. It's available in an omnibus version.

ooooo, look...PUNKS!!!

January 7, 2011 12:09 am Well, not to be a Negative Nancy, since I have'nt read this series, but after Morrison's run I don't think this retro incarnation of Doom Patrol deserves the title "The World's Strangest Super Heroes". Just sayin'.
January 6, 2011 11:56 pm @smeeeeee  I agree, the 90's animated Batmobile was bad-ass. Kinda disappointing that the Dark Knight Returns is not featured, considering that's one of the best batman books EVER!
