REVIEWS: DC Comics 52 Pick-Up – Week Four
September 30, 2011 10:02 am Yeah, it wasn't good - not terrible, but not good. I'm taking Balckhawks down to the shed along with it.

REVIEWS: DC Comics 52 Pick-Up – Week Four
September 30, 2011 10:01 am I didn't really care for Justice League Dark at all. The mystical side of the DCU is probably the least known section to me. Mostly because I've never seen or read anything that held my interest and I've always dug Marvel's mystical realms more. It was probably in the bottom 10 of the books released right there near Hawk & Dove. However, I love The Flash - especial the way he dons his uniform. Aquaman is starting off REAL good, GJohns can write a real good story. I think to date, The Firestorm book feels the MOST like a reboot, while the others just have the idea of one. I'm fairly apethetic to Dark Knight and thought the Superman one was just - okay. So, all in all I'm about 55-45 of the DC reboot in general. They definitely have some hits (for me) with Batwing, Demon Knight, GL, GL Corps and Animal Man. some 'meh' titles and some real flops in my opinion.
All in all, not too shaby.

Pick of the Week – 08.31.2011 – Justice League #1
September 1, 2011 7:07 am It was okay, not great in anyway. However, it has potential. The characterizations are a bit jarring, not because these are 'relatively' new characters, but because it just wasn't executed as well as I'd hoped. I'll stick with it for now though.

Let’s Make the DC Relaunch Interesting, Shall We?
September 1, 2011 6:58 am As a Marvel guy, I think JL has potential, but I'm mostly interested in Action, Batman and GL. We'll see about the rest. I was a little underwhelmed by JL, I think it still has the ability to 'Wow' me at some point.

REVIEW: Justice League #1 by Geoff Johns & Jim Lee
September 1, 2011 6:55 am Personally, it lacked personality. It was a little underwhelmed more than I thought I would be. Having read some classic JL stories in the past, the intial PUNCH to the story was a bit softer than I was expecting. I know that they're just setting up the tone of this universe, but honestly... it copies some of the intrinsic aspects of Marvel, but less effectively. I don't know... I hope it gets better. The only character that seemed to be mostly well developed off the bat was Batman, which doesn't surprise me. I didn't really care for the characterization of Green Lantern so much. He reminded me more of a 13 year old with a ring - I attribute that to his verbage. It was just a bit juvenile than I was figuring it would actually be. Since they're setting up Superman congruent to the movie character, it'll be interesting to see how he's characterized. Again, my main problem is how they're characterizing the heroes as oppossed to the story itself.
I trust Geoff Johns, but this first launch was a bit of a dud for me.
2.5/4
