Relentlessly funny and by the end, even a little romantic in the most inappropriate way possible. Tiny Titans style Superman…

6. Why where there shadows of prison cell bars in a room with no doors? Also, when did Wolverine steal Sawyer's everyone-gets-a-funny-nickname super power? None the less, the Panda scene alone made this an early contender for pick of the week. Almost worth the wait...
The Mighty - Peter Tomasi writing and the guy from Dear Billy/The Dreaming/Starman drawing. I think at least 1 of you guys has mentioned liking one or both of these creators in the past.
Just an FYI about Phantom Stranger that you might strike your fancy - A three (or maybe four) parter starring him, Green Lantern, and Green Arrow just ended in The Brave & The Bold. Not terribly important, but pretty fun none the less, as all B&B stories should be.
re: #2 - Wasn't Raimondi back on the book recently, like 6-7 issues ago when that guy from the arctic, or something, showed up and tried to kill all the mutants because they were giving him a psychic headache? And if you'd like to see Calero on X-Factor, go back and give your post-Sook issues a 2nd look - he drew at least one arc about Syren getting kidnapped.
By the way, in the middle of the 2nd paragraph of my post, there should be a bit about how I take my comics to the bar so I can drink/eat/read at the same time and the lighting there makes glossy comics nearly impossible to read. Apparently I decided to delete that part before posting, which admittedly, was a weird decision.
re - Secret Six: Connor should try it out at the very least. I would think that a Batman fan would be curious about Bane as a pseudo good guy (with a weirdly sexual daddy/daughter relationship with Vandal Savage's kid) as well as a clever play on the Batman/Catwoman relationship in the form of Catman and Huntress having a fling that Batman doesn't approve of. Does that not sound like fun comicing?
So I've got a comment I've wanted to make about this paper quality issue since it's become a hot topic on all the comic podcasts lately.
I'm the sort of reader that treats his comics like the disposable entertainment they are, which isn't to say that I don't keep them/re-read them/treasure them in my own way, but I certainly couldn't care less about how glossy the paper is or how long they'll last. The moment I walk out of the comic shop on Wednesdays, I roll my books up, shove them in my back pocket, and go to a local bar to environment, have light coming in from all over place and very often I cannot for the life of see what's on the page because of the glare. It doesn't matter how I hold the book, it's usually impossible to read.
Yes, it's a stupid nitpick and I'm not under any illusion that a lot of people feel this way but I thought it might be an interesting 3rd option in the good paper/high prices vs. bad paper/low prices debate. Does fancy paper ruin anyone else's reading experience? I literally groan every time a book I like comes out in that Ultimate line shiny format.
On a related note, it was Chris Neisman on 11 O'clock Comics who brought up the paper isn't the reason prices are going up argument. Obviously he was drunk and rambly, but his points did sound somewhat reasonable.
Hellblazer #250 seemed like a sure bet, both as my personal pick and Josh's, but I couldn't agree more about this issue coming from out of nowhere and stealing John's thunder. Fantastic despite itself and constantly teasing the reader with what seemed like a seemingly inevitable self-indulgent collapse that never came. This issue actually got me excited for the last year of Ex Machina, a series I've been buying based solely on muscle memory for a good long while (though the recently announced special drawn by Jean Paul Leon did it’s fair share of making this title relevant for me again as well).
Hellblazer #250 was pretty great as well though and after reading his short story, I feel confident that we'll be getting good Peter Milligan during his upcoming run (or arch?).
"And oh yeah, Janet Van Dyne dying......who the heck cares?! And according to the SI: Requiem solicit it isn't like she's really dead............."
Thanks for the heads up about the spoiler, Ratenef. Shame you won't be reading BMB books anymore; where oh where will I get stories spoiled without you around?
