November 25, 2018 2:13 am This is ridiculous. These guys have proven themselves time and time again that all they want is good movie and which company has released it is irrelevant. There's been plenty of MCU films that they're ambivalent on and several X-Men film that guys like Ron have outright hated. I'm pretty sure most of them would say The Dark Knight is one of the best superhero films ever.

December 25, 2016 4:53 am Great to here your opinions on this. I thought it was good with a weak first act but a great final act. I was a little disappointed in not getting a Thrawn-esque Krennic but seeing him constantly fail and have his project stolen out from under him was satisfying. I think my rankings are 5, 4 6 and R1/7 slightly just below.

May 12, 2016 4:56 am I thought it was great. Probably not as great as Winter Soldier but maybe just below it. The action scenes were AMAZING especially the airport scene but I also enjoyed the Crossbones scene and the Cap/Bucky/Black Panther scene. There's a moment where the camera's following black widow running through the streets right behind her that felt really immersive. I loved Black Panther's movement but since I'm still not sure of his powerset I kept wondering how the hell he was keeping pace with the other dudes, though that's not exactly a bad thing. And the final threeway fight was just so rad, just such great choreography and to me a real sense that they weren't holding back and someone could get killed. I liked the simplicity of this villain and he's pretty much a whole new creation that just shares his name with the comics Zemo. I loved everything with ant-man in the airport scene and I actually think he's pretty accurate to the Scott Lang I remember as part of Fantastic Four in the 90s, who who was always bewildered by everything strange going on around him when they're going into space or other dimensions and he's just a guy who can shrink. Originally I also thought spider-man name dropping Empire Strikes Back in that way was kind-of off, but I like the idea that he's trying to mention it more casually because he doesn't want to seem like uber-nerd around the "cool" kids, or there's the idea that when you're a kid you think the first time you see/listen/read something is the first time anyone has. In regards to Hawkeye's depiction, my understanding was he's more the Ultimate version than regular, which is why he has the same family, kids and SHIELD agent background. This probably sounds weird but my only gripe is I sort-of wish there was another Cap film that was a bit smaller in scale. I really love this character and his supporting cast and I'd love to see more of them together.

April 1, 2016 4:54 am I gave it about 6/10. After Man of steel I expected about 0 so I enjoyed certain moments and zoned out in others. A couple of things bugged me, like an overuse of CGI. I felt it's inclusion in the batmobile scene brought that down a bit and Doomsday didn't look so great when you compare it to how awesome King Shark looked on tv. Not to mention those crappy CGI energy waves in the fight. I remember feeling really uncomfortable at batman killing all those thugs and using guns. It was all over the place but I really enjoyed Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons. I'm a big Superman fan but I'll freely admit that I went into this hoping Batman would kick the shit out this smug dick, and boy was I, well, kinda happy. There was one frame I really liked with Superman, right at the start where he's flying in to save Lois. It felt like a panel from Siege with the Sentry flying into Asgard and wrecking up the joint. Mostly I've been having more fun listening to podcasts' reactions and this episode was really great. (I have no idea what the "babe in the woods routine" meant but you guys laughing your asses off is always gold). Thanks for making this guys.

August 12, 2015 7:14 am Great podcast guys. I had small hopes for this one but I hated the pacing and thought we'd get some proper superheroing in different locations that than clautrophonic base set. There was some great ideas glossed over like the idea of turning Ben into a weapon and I really liked the scenes with Doom just exploding people's heads, which felt like a scene straight out of chronicle. I had this feeling I'd watched a 2 hour tv pilot though with all the good stuff still yet to come.
