Mandi

Name: Mandi Spengler

Bio: I live in San Francisco and shop at Jeffrey's Toys! I've been into comics a loooong time and used to work in a comic shop for 3 years. These days I'm mostly a DC girl, but more and more Marvel seems to be creeping into my pull list, as well as cool Image and indie stuff.

May 15, 2008 8:06 am spydermon - Honestly, this felt like classic FF to me, much more than the current Millar/Hitch run over in the main book.  Plus it has the return of an important (well, semi-important) character who is part of FF history.  Pick it up. :)
May 2, 2008 10:18 am You know, I have to agree...  in fact, as a longtime DC reader, the sex/violence level in a lot of DC books has really been bothering me lately. This, the number of beheadings over in GL Corps during "The Corpse" storyline... it makes me wonder if DC really cares about new readers, i.e., kids. I'm hardly a prude either... I'm a sex educator in San Francisco.  But in this kind of entertainment, where it's clearly not a "mature readers" book and the reader demographic is very broad, well some lines clearly need to be drawn.

Just read this moments ago...  wow, you know, I really can't think of a writer whose comics have a more cinematic feel than those written by Geoff Johns.  Although this was one of those endings you could see coming - you just KNEW what was going to happen. But like any good summer blockbuster, knowing how its going to end doesn't matter because its exactly the payoff I wanted!

This really is one of the greatest Legion stories I've ever read.  I can't even BEGIN to express how excited I am for Legion of 3 Worlds!

February 19, 2008 3:28 pm Im totally excited to be going to Wondercon this year!  It's just been getting better and better since the SDCC guys took it over.  There's just sooooo much stuff happening in this year's programming, now I gotta add seeing the iFanboy guys to the list!  I'm not gonna have time to shop and score swag! ^_^

I got this expecting it to be skewed young, but, wow, it's skewed *really* young.  This is obviously not the book for me and it make's me glad the powers at DC decided not to cancel Teen Titans Go and JLU.  I'm glad I bought the issue, just to have a utterly charming kid-friendly comic in my Teen Titans collection, but I'm not going to pick up the series.  I'm still optimistic about the new Shazam book, though!

BTW, this is my first post to iFanboy ever, after being a fan of the podcasts for the last few months!  See you guys at Wondercon!
