Alright, I’ll admit it. I got a little misty eyed when Warren got the “Picard in ‘The Inner Light’” treatment…

September 17, 2012 5:48 pm My feelings towards AvX have been mixed, at best. But from an emotional standpoint, Xavier being killed by his surrogate son/successor to leading the charge of making his dream a reality... It really doesn't get much more Hellenistically tragic than that.
September 17, 2012 5:44 pm I agree that Magik has been used poorly since she came back, but I think there's potential for really good stories with her involved. They'd have to be sort of different and strange niche stories because she's an odd character, but they could still be done well.
September 17, 2012 4:21 pm I feel like a lot of people get weirdly upset because the characters in the story don't act like they know the dead are coming back sooner or later. It's like they're upset that when Nightcrawler died, Wolverine didn't just shrug and say "see you in a few years, Elf." Because how can they be mad if Nightcrawler is alive in the comics again? That would be awesome. Is anyone really going to say that X-Men universe would be better if Colossus was still dead? Or Havok? Or Magik? Or if they'd never retconned Magneto into being a crazy dude named Xorn? Hell, I still want Banshee back. And Forge. And yes, even Jean. A character's death can be a great story, as can a character coming back. I understand that the characters should probably pick up on this, as it's happened frequently in their lives. But once the characters start treating death as being temporary, then, and only then, does it become meaningless.
September 12, 2012 1:45 am This article made me realize one ultimate, undeniable truth about comics: The Sentry will never NOT be hilarious. I really hope Marvel gets on board with the joke and puts out a "Sentry Omnibus" or some kind of massive "Best of the Sentry" collection. Who wouldn't buy that? Every time you're feeling sad or depressed, you just pull that baby off the shelf, crack it open to any random issue, and have yourself a hearty laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of that character and everything he embodies. He's the "Kickpuncher" of the comic book world.
September 5, 2012 3:15 pm They do look good. The spines are red with a pale yellow lightning pattern at the top. It reads "THE FLASH (in gold) OMNIBUS BY (in black) GEOFF JOHNS (in white)" down the spine, and then 1, 2, or 3 at the bottom. The only slightly nitpick-y point is the first two volumes have the old DC logo and the third has the new one under the volume number, but it's not noticeable enough to be a distraction.
September 4, 2012 4:57 pm Anyone know if there's any plans for a fourth Johns omnibus with the Rebirth/pre-new 52/Flashpoint stuff?
August 31, 2012 1:45 am Oh, come on. I'd be upset if Bruce Wayne DIDN'T have a hover-table...
August 10, 2012 3:55 pm Who plays what in "The Robins" band? I'm gonna say Damian on drums, Tim on bass and backup vocals, Jason on lead guitar, and Dick as lead singer and a variety of instruments depending on the song, but primarily keyboard and tambourine.
August 6, 2012 5:33 pm It's also in the Wolverine Omnibus (the older, Miller/Claremont based one, not the newer Jason Aaron one), along with a ton of other good older Wolverine stuff - the miniseries by Frank Miller, the Kitty Pryde and Wolverine mini, his first appearances in Hulk, the first ten or so issues of the first Wolverine ongoing, and some other stuff that escapes me right now. I don't know if it's still in print, but if you're really jonesing for some old school Wolverine, that's some great bang for your buck.
August 6, 2012 5:28 pm Man, that helmet/headgear and all those wires and boxes look ridiculously clunky... But this still looks awesome. I don't think this look works for any other character in any other story - but it sure looks badass here.
