May 8, 2013 6:48 pm While I agree that FCBD can be a letdown to some people because of how excited they get, I tend to really love FCBD. Would I have bought 2 Archie comics today if I hadn't read the Archie offering on Saturday? No. Would I have ordered Volume 1 of Prince Valiant from Fantagraphcis if not for Saturday's event? No. That's what the day does for me. Introduces me to stuff I wouldn't give a chance otherwise. Also, if you didn't read The Strangers from FCBD, do it! Very good stuff.
April 30, 2013 5:23 pm Every time someone mentions Fell, it really bums me out. Just re-read all the issues the other day. I need RESOLUTION! I also really need to know if PRETTY BABY MACHINE kill Al Capone.

April 4, 2013 9:25 am Even with my stack as big as it is, I tend to re-read a lot. Recently, I did re-read all of Preacher and it was well worth it. I also recently re-read the Essex County trilogy and the first 8 issues of Fell. Fell was the toughest. I went into it knowing that I was going to re-read a cliffhanger of sorts that I will probably never get resolution to. But, it was worth it also, just to see what I loved about the series so much when it was "coming out."
February 8, 2013 6:51 pm That Hellboy sketch is incredible. Breaking into a border like that is one of my favorite things in sketches. Kristian Donaldson did an amazing sketch for me a couple years back of Matty Roth where the top of the border is the NYC skyline and the bottom has his press pass coming out of it.
January 10, 2013 5:55 am This is amazing news. I miss TRS like crazy, but I'm down with this. I remember Dan singing Y: The Last Man's praises all the way back in the Geekdrome days.
December 21, 2012 6:23 pm There are very few books that I really want to own multiple formats. Digital isn't something I'm worried about, but with a book like The Escapists, I worked really hard to pick up all the issues and then bought the trade. Thats probably one of 3 or 4 books that I own in multiple formats. Those are also the only things that I care about having the issues. I sell most of my comics to buy more comics, so most single issues don't really bother me to get rid of.
December 13, 2012 11:04 am Maybe the problem then is that I have only read the first 3 issues. I enjoyed the story, it just felt like it was bogging me down and was a bit confusing at times. I'll have to grab the first trade when it comes. I also love Kristian Donaldson's art. He's from Dallas, so I talk to him at every convention I go to here in Texas. Awesome guy and great artist. He has improved so much with The Massive. His stuff for DMZ, Supermarket and 99 Days all felt a bit static, but he is killing it on The Massive. I think the thing that also got me about the book is how different the series was from the 3 prequel stories in DHP. I really liked those and then it felt like the first 3 issues changed tone completely. Definitely excited to give it another chance though.
December 12, 2012 8:48 pm This is absolutely one of my favorite books. I read mostly trades, but with this book, I just can't wait that long. I wish The Massive was as good as this. Anyone reading his Marvel stuff right now?
December 8, 2012 10:42 am I have this same problem. I'm definitely the easiest person to shop for in my entire family. All I want is comics. When someone asks what I want, I saw "comics!" But, all that said, I almost never get any comics for Christmas. The only person who will get me a comic is my wife, but even she tends to want to buy me Green Lantern T-shirts and Justice League posters.
