As far as I can tell, event comics are supposed to be like rock albums. They’re big, flashy, noisy, and…

August 22, 2011 1:22 pm Great article! I just moved from Austin to Madison and I was amazed to find that the selection of graphic novels and trades is even better in Madison, which is half the size of Austin. My local branch has a stunning amount of independent and smaller press stuff (including a copy of Blacksad!). Considering how much the move cost, it's been a great way to try all sorts of stuff without spending money. Everyone should use their local library.
August 10, 2011 4:46 pm There is a hardcover collection, but it is a very limited print run and you have to order it directly from Terry Moore's Abstract Studios. Mine should be here today and I can't wait!
July 27, 2011 3:09 pm Thanks @Slockhart! I'll keep an eye on the website.
July 27, 2011 2:47 pm Bummer about Trickster!. Given the creator-owned revolt this year, I had hoped this event would have more meaning.

Do you know if Moore is going to sell copies of the hardcover on his website?
July 22, 2011 11:14 am The art actually has me rethinking whether or not to pick up Batman. Jock and FF's art had so much subtlety and nuance that the Capullo art just looks gaudy to me.
July 13, 2011 3:17 pm UX never did much for me, but the fact that Spencer is picking up Kitty, Bobby, and Johnny from Ultimate Spider-man makes me want to check this out. I think the biggest question is whether or not they're going to bother with the plot threads that Loeb created in Ultimate X. That series started off great but the last issued was drifting towards Ultimatum territory.
July 8, 2011 10:06 am Jesus. Its Christmas time and the Avengers need a new heavy hitter.

Joking aside, maybe Wanda? Will Children's Crusade be done by then? Bucky seems the most logical though.
June 24, 2011 1:45 pm I'm actually quite hopeful about the New Gods. Given that DC is taking a chance on the lesser-known (at least outside of comics) OMAC and the Demon, I think it's not a stretch to think that we could see the New Gods again soon. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Kamandi again too. Do we know if Morrison's Multiversity is still in the works? I thought he was going to reintroduce a lot of classic DC characters in that series.
June 15, 2011 8:54 pm At that time in his career, wasn't Brando considered something of a primadonna? Sounds like the perfect recasting to me.
June 15, 2011 11:04 am I'm beginning to wonder if DC will reboot the JSA the way the team was brought in to Smallville-they'll be a secret team from the 30s/40s that no one knew about. Superman will be the world's first hero in the sense that he is the world's first public superhero. I think it makes sense because Smallville's rendition of the JSA is probably the only version that non-comic readers know.
