August 19, 2011 5:57 pm Ha! Georgians unite! I'm in Atlanta though, the little bastion of "north" in the south...sort of. BUT I will say that while they may not be geographically deeper Mississippi, Alabama, etc. definitely have just as much South in them...maybe even a little more than GA. Also West Virginia is somewhat terrifyingly rural, but that's neither here nor there.
August 19, 2011 5:51 pm I love me some Warlock, but I gotta disagree about him never being used. While he was absent for a few years, he has had a solid presence in the original New Mutants, then Excalibur, then his own series, then Nova, and now back to the New Mutants. I mean sure there were a few years between New Mutants and Excalibur and then between his own series and his reappearance in Nova, but I still feel Warlock fans have gotten to see more of him than most of the characters on this list, except maybe Cannonball and Madrox
August 6, 2011 2:23 pm Honestly, it seems like a publicity stunt to me. Were they advertising how great the new charatcer is and how Bendis has crafted a superb origin story for this charatcer and how he was inspired by Peter? Not as far as I can tell. Everything I've seen has focused almost entirely on the ethnicity of the character. So far this seems to be about pushing diversity in spite of story. Of course, this could be due solely to MArvel's marketing department and not to Bendis's actual thoughts and plans regarding the book. I'll keep reading, but it seems EXTREMELY gimmicky to me. I hope he doesn't lose his powers and have to start wearing an armored costume while dealing with a cloned version of himself trying to take his place until a Kryptonian resurrection matrix brings back Peter. I just think that would be too on the nose/ =P
June 29, 2011 2:52 pm @spaceghost15  No, it is definitely Captain Canuck/Captain Canada because he was the only one that had a fully formed red maple leaf on his costume, the Guardian and Vindicator only had half-leaves.

TMNT would have to be all of them, each individual turtle's color is used in the flag, and there is no doubling up on Splinter's purplish color or his brown fur either.

Yeah it's Quicksilver. He is the only one ooutside of the Legion to have lighting bolts span the hest of the costume rather than be displayed as a standalone bolt, a la Captain Marvel and Black Adam. As for the Legion member (Lightning Lad, Lightning Lass, Spark, etc) their colors are vastly different than this flag, hence Quicksilver. Why he has his own flag is anyone's guess.
June 29, 2011 2:40 pm @SpiderTitan  I'm also uncertain about Black Vulcan. I mean he was yellow not green, and even if you turn the yellow into green, there weren't two different shades of it in his costume. He only had three colors, black or dark blue base, yellow or neon green highlights/bolts, and his own brown skin color.
June 29, 2011 2:32 pm @WheelHands: The thing is that Spawn's eyes were always Green, never red, whereas Bane had red eyes. I think the eye color gives it to Bane.
June 4, 2011 9:00 am @Goldenboy  Wow, based on the incredible harshness I see here I must have watched a completely different movie then most people. My film had decent effects and a wonderful 60s period piece feel, as I think that was the primary intention.

@briansalinas  Your proposed plot would be great in a Saturday morning cartoon aimed at 9-12 year olds, but not in a film for adults trying to tell a complete character arc.

@zefyr  Remember, in his introduction Darwin had been sent to Krakoa and "died" there. In reality his body altered itself to an energy form that could not be seen or registered and was only semi-conscious. He was like that for years before he recovered. It could very well be the same thing here, whether or not he re-forms himself in time for any sequels is another thing altogether though. The film was consistent with the Brubaker version of the character.
June 1, 2011 3:19 pm @VichusSmith  Remember though it has team members from multiple X-Men generations: Angel from the Original Team, Wolverine from the Giant-Size & Claremont eras, Archangel & Psylocke from the late 80s early 90s X-Factor/Jim Lee X-Men, Fantomex from the often left out Morrison run, and now Deathlock from the current Wolverine run by Aaron, also Deadpool is there for some reason
