June 23, 2013 9:19 pm seen it twice now, it was even better the second time. Something that bugs me about fans is that when DC "modernized" the Batman franchise into crime/heist films it was genius, brillant, ect. However, when DC tries this with the blue boyscout, people flip their s&%$. You can clearly see what Warners/Legendary pictures are doing. They are lining up(redesigning the tone) their ponies to make sure that when they do their Justice League, the whole "stable" doesn't seem out of place or forced. I applaud the director or M.O.S. for taking risks and giving us this take on Superman (even though that word was only physically said twice in the film) on the big screen.
January 10, 2013 11:58 pm Talk about a 1,000 pound question!!! My vote is Neal Adams Reason=Neal Adams is the drawing counterpart to Bendis, most of the time you wish he'd just stop talking, but he is DAMN good at his craft. I was born a poor black child.......oh wait, wrong story. I was born in 82' and didn't even read a Neal Adams Batman comic til last year. I bought those 3 hardcover volumes of the Neal Adams Batman and was quickly taken to school by Neal Adams. I can't even quantify with words, do yourself a favor and just pick up those volumes DC put out, they are worth full retail price.
September 26, 2012 12:14 pm Publisher wide, DC wins, hands down IMO
September 20, 2012 11:58 am thanks pmvaun for the info, yeah just read the creative roster(s) that's too many for 12 issues, yikes. And Tony Daniel was writing...........yeah I'll wait.
September 20, 2012 11:31 am Is this series worth picking up? I liked Hawkman from the JL animated series, never read a single issue of his solo series.
August 13, 2012 8:03 pm everyone else see that looming price figure at the bottom of the book? Silly Marvel, $3.99 is for the birds. DC gets more and more attractive with each $3.99 book I see.
August 5, 2012 8:14 pm I TRULY want this, but I'm gonna go out a limb here and say that YU only stays on for the first 6-8 issues. Sad because comic books are awesome, but they would be better if done like Euro-graphic albums so we get consistent creator work. Don't get me wrong some artists/writers can stay on a schedule, and far be it from me to criticize because people have lives and what not. It just gets annoying when you get great work from a team, only to have it last maybe 3-4 issues.
July 15, 2012 10:18 pm If Marvel had DC beat off of the finish-line before these movies...............DC might just want to pick up their ball and go home. #everythingafterdarkknightriseswillcontinuetofailforDC
March 20, 2012 6:28 pm Gary Frank is greatest artist there is...... Secret Origin wins b/c of this fact alone. Mad respect for Swan, but what GF lays down on paper is like rain from the heavens.
February 3, 2012 11:35 pm People that are on soap boxes against this Watchmen Origins remind me of those "morally superior" politicians who are always caught in public bathrooms with boys of "questionable" ages.
