iFanboy - Episode #152 - DC vs. Marvel!

On Mar 3, 2010 12:08 AM

I know it's been said, but scrap the zoom-ins.  The quality of the image goes down, I presume because you're just zooming in on a small area of a larger image.  And more over, I like it when we can see the whole crew, because we get to see the reactions of the other two to what one person says.

The Thanos Imperative Comes to Marvel Cosmic

On Feb 12, 2010 1:02 PM

This is pretty awesome.  I broke my comic book cherry with Infinity Gauntlet #4, and ever since Thanos has held a special place for me.  A flawed villain, in the same way that so many of Marvel heroes are themselves flawed.  Who lusts for absolute power, but deep down doesn't believe that he deserves it.  This will be exciting, I have no doubt.

10 Things About the 2000s that Wizard Forgot - Part One

On Dec 1, 2009 3:47 PM

A new reader to Wizard probably doesn't have a great swell of interest in things other than Marvel and DC, I think that's a fair statement.  Look at the covers of that thing?  Plastered all over with hype, and exciting looking letters describing SUPER-HEROES! And on the spectrum of comics from "Mainstream" to "Independent", Vertigo is a dang sight closer to Indie...

09.23.2009 - Fantastic Four #571

On Sep 24, 2009 3:18 AM

This book was my pick of the week as well.  Absolutely great in every way.  I particularly loved Reed defending himself from Sue's inevitable attack by arguing that the subject he's most versed in is HER. I don't want to be the guy who does this, but I can't help myself... @ Ron Nonplussed... you keep using this word.  I do not think it means what you think it means.  To...

Archie Having Kids...?

On Aug 18, 2009 9:00 AM

@CalebTheTimeTraveler: Because of some sweetheart deal where they get prime real-estate on magazine racks, I think Archie comics are some of the highest selling comics in the industry.  That may be the Digests though, but either way, I think it sells pretty darn well.

Stop Waiting and Just Read the Book!

On Aug 4, 2009 11:23 AM

The price of Old Man Logan is effing stupid.  That's all there is to it.  That works out to something like $4.38/issue.  That's absurd.

Fear Agent Movie is in Development

On Jul 14, 2009 4:19 PM

Much in the same way that some characters just deserve to be played by an English actor (eg. Gandalf), I think Heath Houston deserves to be played by a Texan.  For whatever reason there's somthing unique to the Texan mythos that deserves honesty in its portrayal.  This is one of the reasons that, love him though I do, I always kind of threw up in my mouth a little when people wanted t...

Longbox Demo + Presentation from Heroes Con

On Jun 30, 2009 11:55 AM

I don't want to be a dick, especially because my grammar is far from perfect, but I was a little turned off by the speakers usage of language.  He frequently used words that sounded good, but that I'm pretty sure were used incorrectly.  Though it wasn't spoken, a perfect example was the disclaimer that stated "They do not indicate publisher advocation of longbox", in this ca...

Strangers in Paradise Omnibus - On Sale Now!

On May 15, 2009 4:00 PM

@Dan: Color reprints?  You mean this book was originally in color?  I've been getting the pocket books, they're black and white, and I just assumed that's the way it was. Also, I'm with whoever stated it above.  1100 page hardcover omnibus just seems a little ridiculous.  These things are going to be huge.  I've got nothing at all against hardcover books, I love 'em i...
