December 12, 2010 6:48 pm Although I understand people not wanting other writers to touch certain characters, I can't say that it's a feeling that I've ever really encountered. I think it's mostly because 9 times out of 10 what drew me to reading about certain characters is the writer, not the character him/herself. I enjoyed Sandman because of Neil Gaiman's writing, not because of something inherently compelling about the character. And while I haven't read any of the Dreaming spinoffs by other creators, I have read a few arcs of Lucifer because I enjoy Mike Carey as a writer. When it comes right down to it, I just want to read good stories.
