I think we are off to a great start. Geoff Johns can be hit or miss with me but I…

November 20, 2012 10:49 am I can afford to spend more on comics than I do but I still have the mindset of voting with my wallet. I am not paying 3.99 for a single issue. I'm not paying 2.99 for a single issue if I can help it. I wait for the dollar price drop. If a company doesn't offer a title for 1.99 or less I don't buy it. I used to wait for trades but now that there are reasonably economical options for single issues in a digital format and that is how I buy most of my comics. I used to be a hardcore Marvel person, but the way they do their pricing compared to DC, Image and others has caused me to move more in the direction of giving my business to these other companies. I hope DC does not continue to move in this 3.99 direction. I don't buy Marvel comics until they drop them to 1.99 or less. I also use their digital unlimited service. It doesn't work with my tablet but I don't mind reading some comics on my desktop or laptop considering the price. I am not hung up on "owning" comics anymore. The Marvel site has probably saved me 100's of dollars on trades that I would have bought. On the one hand I think the 3.99 price is ridiculous, but I do think they are doing something right with the unlimited option. If it was actually compatible with my IPad it would be even more valuable to me.
November 22, 2011 4:38 pm Downloaded it to the NOOK yesterday. It's behind of couple of things I am in the middle of but I'm hoping to get to it soon. I have high hopes. I congratulate you on having the guts to put yourself out there. It's worth 2.99 just for the Sonja cover.
October 26, 2011 10:26 am I am completely digital and I think Mike has covered all the advantages very well. There is a part of me that worries about "losing" what I have downloaded if a company goes under but on the other hand I have boxes and boxes of books that I haven't looked at in years taking up space in my garage. They may as well not exist because I don't want to deal with their physicality. Whether it is single issue or a collection, it is going to take a very "special" book for me to want to get a physical copy anymore. Marvel has basically lost my day and date business because the stuff they release is really pricey and they take their sweet time dropping the price. I would love to read Schism, but I'm not going to do it at 3.99 an issue. If they at least start dropping them a buck or two after a month I may come back. Otherwise I am quite happy reading their really old stuff for 1.99 or less or reading it on their digital website which in my opinion offers one of the more quality guided views that I have used. I don't have a tables, I mostly read on my desktop and have had a very good experience. I like reading on my phone as well but the screen is just a touch small. If the Kindle Fire gets quality reviews and links up with Comixology or Graphicaly at all then I might consider getting one just a comic reader when I can't read at my desk. Great article Mike.
October 3, 2011 12:21 pm This would be fascinating. My first thought was that they each buy some of what they like and put it online and then read the rest of what they wanted. I got Batman this week if you do X-Men. Something like that. Otherwise they are the nicest most genourous thieves I have ever met.
September 29, 2011 3:54 pm Little bit of a spit take on the Pac-Man costume when I saw the ghost.
September 28, 2011 11:31 am Love Bachalo and really want to pick this stuff up but will not pay 3.99 for a monthly. Guess I'm waiting for a digital price drop or the trade. Sigh
September 23, 2011 5:31 pm I am trying to stay on a budget and you guys are make it very difficult. I was going to wait on WW and pick it up after the price drop but now I may have to pick it up.-
September 15, 2011 10:14 am I enjoyed this but I definitely got the feeling the majority of this issue was written long before the idea of the New 52 had come to fruition. It doesn't feel like we are starting over but picking up where we left off. The art was spectacular. I bought it digitally and thought the double page spreads really popped. This has probably been my favorite of what I have read so far.
September 15, 2011 10:07 am I liked this but the dialogue was a bit forced between Damian and Bruce. Then again they are probably pretty awkward toward each other. My question is where is cocky somewhat lighthearted Batman. I liked that version and would like to see some consistency there.
September 15, 2011 10:05 am If you are a regular at the store the best thing you can do is try and tell the guy what you think. Everyone makes mistakes. If he keeps pulling this stuff let him know you are leaving and going to grab it off the web for cover. Way to dig your own grave dude.
