Name: jake lagory

Bio: I've been reading comics for just over a year now, and now I can't imagine what I did to fill my days before then.. I'm an illustrator, so I was pulled in by the art mostly, starting out with Frank Miller, Mike Mignola, and David Mazzucchelli. I do remember picking up random Spider-Man comics as a kid, and I loved the Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man cartoon shows so maybe that contributed to their current appeal.

April 25, 2012 8:07 pm After reading both issues it wasn't clear at all what this was about. The art was a bit hard to follow throughout as well. Unfortunately, this adds to a long list of BPRD "side plots" that really don't feel necessary or worth reading in addition to the main story.
April 18, 2012 8:25 pm As great as this was, I think you're right about trade-waiting. I've been reading BPRD in issues for years, but lately the issues have been feeling shorter somehow. But I guess that's probably because of the wonderfully drawn action sequences, so I can't complain.
March 24, 2012 8:35 am James Harren offers some incredibly dynamic art in this issue. I haven't been this excited about BPRD in years!
March 1, 2012 6:18 am There were some problems with this book on the art and writing end. Certain panels were unreadable or awkward, while some of the lines made me cringe. Check out the Gene Ha stuff but after that I'm out.
February 12, 2012 11:47 am I wasn't too impressed with this. The art was a bit hard to read at some points, and I'm not feeling really grabbed by the story. If the next issue gets better reviews I may continue.
January 26, 2012 6:31 am So good. This issue made the hellboy corner feel interesting again.
January 20, 2012 8:22 pm Excellent art! I've never heard of this fellow, but I love the clean style. I gave this 4 stars because there were some pretty awkward transitions and pacing issues.
January 12, 2012 6:17 pm One of those weeks where a 4 star book gets POTW from me.
January 9, 2012 3:54 pm I honestly thought this cover was a joke.
December 23, 2011 8:18 pm I read issues 1-4 on comixology but they don't seem to be planning on adding any more "back issues" anytime soon. Might have to start reading from this point to hold me over.
