June 15, 2013 6:22 am Love that Hellboy! Looks like he's being attacked by a Cthlhuhu.
June 15, 2013 6:15 am I love Paul's articles/reviews more than most I read but aside from the "definitive Jordan-El" and positive notes, I whole heartedly disagree on this being a joyless film, although cold at times but I embraced that sense of cold as intentional so the audience would feel the distance between us and Krytonians like Zod as well as Kal-El's distance from everyone embracing the best of two worlds when he sees the ugliness in ours and his home planet all while battling it out in a display of him still realizing what he's truly capable of. Loved it and like many, it will resonate even better with a 2nd viewing.
June 15, 2013 5:46 am Good pics with a group of really cool variants for Superman Unchained. The Bruce Timm's 30's Fleischer piece was my favorite then Dave Johnson's Golden Age. I love how they did the different logo's & numbering in the corners so as to fit with the period of each, nice touch..it really is the little things sometimes. While those were my favorites I ended up getting 2 $7 covers : Lee Bermejo's for my reading copy (might as well have a cover I like better for $7 when the standard is $4.99), and I got Dan Jurgens 90's Doomsday variant complete with bullet logo and mullet, love it. I thought Batman Year Zero's cover was nice simplicity with raised print on a semi HC cover...and thought the blk, white n' blue variant with silhouette's of both his face and an edgy, sketchy cityscape.
June 15, 2013 5:32 am Likewise, Declan Shavley has done some of my favorite interiors that go way overlooked....his rotating interiors towards the end of Remender's Secret Avengers run were great! Guy draws a mean Sentinel. I wasn't even aware of Half Past Danger and that cover is sweet.
June 14, 2013 1:51 am He captures the essence of the character perfectly. "Mediocre" I don't think I'd plaster on the whole X movie franchise, I mean likes and dislikes galore throughout but First Class was a good movie & I enjoyed things about all of em'(continuity aside, but it fits in they're movie continuity). In the end we all know Marvel Studios will have to get em back to please the hardcore fans the most. After First Class, I think Days of the Future Past will be solid, Apocalypse fits that premise and the cast is good. Benicio Del Toro is gonna play Apocalypse and Thanos.
June 14, 2013 1:42 am I can't get it up for fuzzy men either. ;)

BQ: Masters of the Universe has become an obsession with the MOTU classics, the comics, the Castle of Grayskull, Eternia ....the expanded story that spans ancestors from the distant past to the far future all on top of added depth to the classics I grew up with.
June 10, 2013 6:33 am I love the last 3 covers of Swamp Thing! All good covers though, I listed the ones that stood out to me this week.
June 9, 2013 7:54 am They look just like those DC mini Mez-Itz.
June 9, 2013 7:51 am This weeks issue of Phantom Stranger was really good, great Jae Lee cover, and a good story with Sin Eater and supporting characters Etrigan The Demon, The Spectre, and The Question. Etrigan still has perfect titles to pop up in and JLDark n' Swampy seem to mix it up often as well with these guys, so they got a pretty solid group of characters over in the supernatural side.
