Francisco

Name: Francisco Rosa

Bio: Been reading comics 30+ years.  Living in Montreal Quebec, I've been exposed to both North American comics and it's French equivalent (from QC, France & Belgium), so I like to think I'm fairly diverse in my tastes toward the artform.I dabbled in comics writing, art and publishing during the 1990s with my Scarlet Rose Productions company but discovered after 5 years that I was much better in the wine trade.  So I now spend most of my time tasting, reviewing and selling Bacchus' favorite drink.I also served 3 years as a Judge and advisor for the Joe Shuster Awards, the Canadian comics awards which brings the work of canuck creators to public attention.

January 12, 2012 9:55 am Which really makes me glad I hunted down the original issues of both MOKF and ROM. It would be fun thought to see the art of Paul Gulacy, Mike Zeck and Gene Day in glorious black and white to admire the linework.
January 12, 2012 9:51 am Sad about O.M.A.C. but totally agree on the cancellation of all the others. Will probably try BATMAN INCORPORATED, WORLDS’ FINESTand DIAL H. Really not interested in reading anything by J. T. Krul, the dead-cat-as-a-weapon writer or books from people in Bob Harras`rolodex.
January 9, 2012 6:40 pm John Byrne. Frank Miller. j. michael straczynski. Dave Dorman has joined a pretty elite group called O.M.I.T. "Open Mouth, Insert Foot"
January 9, 2012 6:34 pm I think filippod has something here. Dorman obviously feels that breast pumps are the preferable method of getting milk for babies
January 9, 2012 2:42 pm someone's definition of what a "comic" is, is key, isn't it? If your definition is "something made for children" or "storytelling art form". but then it all comes down to what someone finds appropriate for his child.
January 9, 2012 2:32 pm I always find it fascinating that portraying people beating each other to bloody pulp is okay but something as natural as a mother breastfeeding her child is felt to be offensive.
December 21, 2011 9:03 am The combination of decompression storytelling fatigue, 20 pages of story and the $3.99 price tag, have made me drop the Bendis Avengers titles.
December 21, 2011 8:53 am All we need now is a black Nick Fury in the 616 universe to add to that group shot. Oh, wait, rumor has it that that's coming too.
December 21, 2011 8:49 am Unfortunately, Matt Fraction has lost a lot of good will since Fear Itself. I myself have even dropped his Invincible Iron Man which seems to be going nowhere.
December 16, 2011 10:44 pm Well I guess the only one I won't be picking up is the Tom DeFalco one...
