Cover Blindness

On Dec 14, 2009 11:25 AM

I usually take a list with my when I go to the shop but I also experience temporary blidness. Thanks for sharing this as I usually blame this on buying my comics on my lunch break when I'm short on browsing time. That said, as mentioned above, my weekly hunt would be made easier if the shop had a list of stuff that was sold out, indies they didn't order or NRDF (Not Received due to Diamond Fuck...

The Audience Demands It Show!

My vote is for Locke and Key. It feels as if Hill and Rodriguez have been working together forever and they combine expertly to tell a great story. The cartoony style betrays a book that convey real emotion and chilling darkness. You instantly connect with the characters and feel for them when the bad shit happens (and it inveriably does).

Conor's Cover Critique: The Week That Was

On Apr 3, 2009 9:00 AM

Nice pick Conor. I have to admit that I was also sucker punched by Marcos as I had not intentions of straying from my pull list this week but I couldn't pass this one up. What I like most about this cover is the composition and the fact that it looks as if Cap is about to punch Hitler on the nose.

The Whole Movie Thing Didn't Work. And I'm OK With That.

Great Article Josh. I agree that comics are a niche and that’s the way it will be. It will continue to be be exploited by other mediums and see no returns of it’s own. I heard recently that as early as 1939 when Superman first came the about, audiences generated by the comic strip and radio program dwarfed the comic book sales.

What do you think of the debate of issues vs trades and the effect this has on how comics are written today?

iFanboy Mini - Episode #33 - It Came From the Storage Unit: Batman #334

This is a cool concept.  I don't think I'd fare much better with my collection especially with the 20 year old comics. Good luck with the rest of your randon picks and I look forward to catching a glimps of your comics den.

Great show guys. This brought back memories of the Con which feels so long ago. I remember you guys talking about breaking slab at the party and whish I could have been there to see peoples reaction as you were jumping on the damn thing. Did you guys ever find out how much it was "worth"?
